My girlfriend is Puerto Rican is they is no more honest women on the planet; when some douche drives by us with a loud, annoying exhaust she expressing her distaste and sometimes puts up the window to drown out the sound. Most women would just ignore it but the bitchy ones express how they really feel. Same with loud music, guys blast music to attract attention but most women think it's annoying and unnecessary. You don't need to survey women here, ask any women next to you what they truly think or Google it, the researcher is already out there. On the opposite, men hear burbles and see a challenge. |

...and as for burbles, all I can say is Remus! A friend at work, on seeing my M2 for the first time, asked me if it had the 'asshole' button? Her husband has an M4 with one of the buttons programmed to open the valves...she calls that the asshole button!

The kind of woman who cares about what you drive (besides the fact that you have a car and you keep it relatively clean), is only really checking for exotics and superluxury cars anyways. |

Now a Kharmann Ghia, original Mini or a Topolino Fiat 500, that will get their attention !

I kind of disagree. I feel women in general don't really care that much about cars or what people drive. You could pull up in an Accord or M2 and I doub't most women would be turned off by either unless they are very materialistic. Outside of exotics the only cars that women seem to pay attention to is Mustangs for some reason as they love them.

Burbles aren't as bad as the auto rev matching feature for making you look like an idiot when driving around town. For that reason I stick to 'DSC off' whenever I'm driving in traffic or a built up area.

Believe it or not it's not only BMW that employs this as even lower level compacts such as the Civic Type R and Veloster N have it as it's pretty commonplace these days in sporty cars. |

The fact you mention a Civic and a Veloster, kind of emphasises the point. Out on the open road, driving in a spirited fashion, rev matching is fine, rushing round town trying to find a parking space, no thanks! |

Back to the original question, the primary reason for the lack of burbles in MDM mode is the MDM mode places all the settings in Comfort mode, with the exception of DSC/DTC, which is in MDM mode. The Comfort mode causes the exhaust to be quieter, and pretty much eliminates the burbles you desire.
