Help, my M2 has no exhaust burbles

When I switch to MDM mode, there is no burble sound. When switching to the sport mode, the exhaust burble sounds like boiling water. What is causing this problem. Thank you

The burbles come after you let off the gas

Short press of traction should give most

Do you have MPE exhaust? If so then make sure the flap is open. If you don't have the MPE, there's a secret way of opening the flaps which you can YouTube, but I believe is you press button once to put into MDM and then press gas pedal fully once (when car is switched on but not cranked yet). MDM with flaps open gives the most burbles

You're welcome. Let us know if it worked. Here's the video of the secret exhaust mode or to open the flaps on a non MPE exhaust:

Not sure about this. Does this sequence open the valves simply for the startup operation, and then disappear when you swtich drive modes? Seems to me the last thing we need is a louder startup; valves are already open in cold start mode.

My stock exhaust wasn't burbling after I brought it out of winter storage. If yours is stock, have your dealer check if the Electrical exhaust flap controller (EAKS) is working.

I have the MPE and at cold start up the valves aren't fully open because I can change the cold start loudness by pressing the button to open them. Also for the first little while when engine is still cold, you don't get any burbles. O

That's MPE. I was referring to stock exhaust.

Yes but as far as I know the two systems operate identically with the exception of muffler difference and a Bluetooth flap control

sounds like you are one of the lucky ones. the burbles are the worst part of the exhaust sound. I watched a couple of hot girls laugh at try hard reving his exhsust... they said "vroom vroom, poppoppop-pop" and walked away giggling.

On anything non-exotic, burbles (and loud exhausts in general) are for the driver only. I personally enjoy them (again, as the driver), but they're played out.
