Do share that video when you have time to capture it. Enjoy the car

The more I watch videos of the checkerboard pattern on the CS roof the more it seems to me that many of the distortions reported on the roof are often misrepresented visual artefacts from off-centre video stills.
If you look at the video of the roof from Blue Purple Red below, you'll notice distortions on the left and right of the video centre point 'magically' disappear as the plane of the video comes into direct alignment to the lens only to reappear as the central video plane moves along. You can validate this yourself by pausing the video and noting a pristine squared alignment in the centre of the screen, then playing and pausing again a second later to note the same previously pristine square arrangement is now distorted when viewed at the edge of the video frame. For actual owners out there, is this something you notice in person? I can only confirm in a few weeks on delivery, but it has bugged me that it seems to becoming accepted knowledge that such an otherwise obvious defect has slipped through production. My suspicion is that some early manufacturing errors may well have occurred but that the rate of occurrence has been significantly amplified by misrepresented visual artefacts from off-centre video stills. The issue is minor but probably present to some degree on most roofs. I've got two strands over 3 inches with minor buckling in the weave in the right front corner. Doesn't bother me, this particular roof weave is one of my favorite things about this car.

There are minor defects in mine if you know what you are looking for. Other people couldn't spot it. To me it is character of the car.

When Persians made their famous carpets starting millenia ago, they purposely would tie one of the tens of thousands of knots incorrectly. This was their way of acknowledging nobody is perfect; and we know about how valuable Persian rugs happen to be. M2CS's slight roof waviness is BMWs Persian Flaw!!

Let's see what roof the G87 M2 will get: metal, classic CFRP or F87 M2 CS CFRP.

If you spot my CS with a bike on top, you have permission to fire, sir.

High with furniture. A bike on a suction mounted rack would be tame in comparison. |

To each his/her own - better transporting your bike in the style and performance of the CS than, say a Yaris
These are interesting solutions. The first suction cup wouldn't work as shown, however - looks like the gurney would interfere. Also, wouldn't want the suction cup lifting the PPF. |

If I stop driving my M3 in the winter, going to HD or grocery shopping, I might as well buy a Porsche or a Corvette.

I'm not sure what driving in the winter, Home Depot or grocery shopping have to do with this but I can throw my bike into the back of my Mini and not give a crap about it. The M2 is a DD but I'm not going to take it down a fire road to get to some singletrack. If you're game to do that with your M3, more power to you.

Mine has a small defect in a few squares that isn't visible unless you know what to look for.
See how they do t look like squares, but more like arrowheads. This doesn't translate to a noticeable defect. |
