M2C Interior GoPro Mount Spot

I'm failing to find a good spot to mount my interior GoPro for my upcoming autocross day. Is there a way to have it positioned as if I had a sunroof (to get that angle)? I saw someone did a suction cup to the rear of the M4 seat but my short testing in a lot quickly shook it off the seat.

Is there a good third-party solution to this for those who didn't option a sunroof? I didn't like the rear side window as the seat is most of the view. My best idea is the idrive screen but you lose seeing what I see (granted I have a second one on the front towhook but rather have two front-facing).

I found an old thread on the M4 forum but maybe someone has come up with a better solution since then. Thanks for any help!

Doh - thanks. Looks like jerry-rigging something is the only real option.

Sadly M4 seats have no posts. Only the plastic backs. I think I'm going to just stick to the idrive screen as I ran out of time on this one.

That's a far reach, but I'll give that a shot. Not sure how much the seats will get in the way. Thanks

Has anyone tried the GoPro curved (sticky) mount on the rear dome light? Seems like the curvature would be a good fit. Not sure you could ever remove the mount but, worst case, a replacement lamp is $35 (https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...IFJlc3VsdHM%3D).

I experimented with this a bunch, and I found that using the back of the seats is still too shaky for the camera. I just put a suction cup on the rear passenger side window and used a few extenders to bring the camera in line with the passenger seat. Then I could adjust the passenger seat to put pressure on the rig and it didn't shake at all.

I also like the idea of the dome light mount, but I wonder how many extenders would be needed to drop down to the right viewing angle and whether that would cause any shaking issues.

Anyone got any pics or updates to where they mounted their GoPro in the interior? I just got a GoPro and now I'm having similar question...

The only place I could mount it decently was under / behind the rear view mirror hanging down...I can go mount it again and take a pic if you want.

this is the view:

That's a phenomenal lap! I was getting 1:43.0 but yours is faster around turn 2. I assume you had TC off since the power delivery is very quick exiting the corner.

Also I mounted my gopro to the passenger seatback with an extension rod to correct the FOV. It looks perfect to cover both driver and outside view

I was planning on putting a sticky mount under the rear view mirror on the black plastic next weekend.. that or suction cup on pass window interior. 👍

If someone was to make a carbon fiber pole that mounts between the rear side windows to provide a mounting point for cameras, would it be of interest to anyone?

Did you mount it with a sticky mount or a suction cup-style mount? If its a suction-cup style, which one did you use?

Since newer M2C, M3 & M4's seats have no headrest posts and only the plastic backs I found a way to mount my GoPro in the M2C interior using a suction cup mount...hope it helps some of you guys
