My SA told me they got allocated only 1 CS, but he seems very confident that they can get more due to their performance with M2C sales. He said there's no way 466 will be the limit. He knows this market well, but I guess time will tell.

Its a true limited edition model , it isnt like the 1M or M4 CS . Most of the times the factory stays loyal on this , and doesnt change the plans due to demand .

That's simply false. It's a true limited edition model at the moment. Nothing has been confirmed yet. We don't know if 466 is the be-all and end-all number.

Because is not confirmed doesnt mean it is false . Also , why not confirmed , its on the online system , and each dealer knows already how many allocation they can secure. Its already confirmed that all M2 CS in the world will be produced before 2021 kicks. Already in EU , this month is the last one. Each dealership in Europe delivered their cars already to most of the customers. Now its just
The US and some other parts of the world , i would guess around 600 cars remain to be produced.

Full run rate for the factory I believe is around 1000 M2 cars a month for the world based on previous yearly sales (13k in 2017). Around 40% went to the US before. So if they converted half of all US bound cars to CS's for all of October, November, and December, they could produce about 600. You can play with the numbers how you want, but they have to finish up on CS's by 12/31. You also have to keep in mind the rest of the supply chain and gymnastics associated there. It's not like you can just call up an injection mold shop and ask them to run off an extra 100 parts for next week. Takes lead time to do it, and there is cost to factory interruption and changeover etc. (I work in mass white goods manufacturing with automated lines, and have numerous automotive suppliers that I have worked closely with).

So 466 may or may not be the final number, but it's doubtful that it'll be hugely different this late in the game.

Since 466 has not been officially confirmed as the end number, it's false to declare that BMW "won't change the plans due to demand". Also, you're contradicting yourself. You're asking "why not confirmed" and then using the word "guess". Let that sink in.

Is it probable that 466 is the end call? - Yes. Is there any indication that confirms 466 as the end call? - No. If history is anything to go by, then it's 50/50 odds at this point.

Sdhotwn is correct. The CS is a 2020 model year car only. All of the allocations have to be built prior to 12/31.

We can only predict at the moment ofc . Thats why we are here , to discuss . No one knows the final numbers , sometimes are less sometimes can be more . It just doesnt make sense in the case of the M2 CS , buuuut , i guess we have to wait 3 months to see the final numbers !

Mine is MSRP, my dealer has a no above MSRP policy for any car they get, so that was easy/fixed.

No idea, I guess that's up to your dealer. Someone somewhere said that there is a dealer communication coming out on Friday...so maybe more pieces will be available then.

$3500 back in December 2019. Roughly 5% is what they do for deposits at this dealer.

MSRP info etc.

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1671940

and a 100+ pages of arguing the merits in every direction if you want to get caught up.

Leasing never even crossed my mind.

That's simply false. It's a true limited edition model at the moment. Nothing has been confirmed yet. We don't know if 466 is the be-all and end-all number.
BMW seems to be getting more money for the car in markets outside of the US. Why would any excess capacity go there if they can find a way to make more than the original number?

Just because these cars cost more in outside markets doesn't mean that BMW pockets more money from each sale.

Supply and demand dictate how much they will make, how much it costs to import, tariffs/tax, etc.

Take Singapore, for example. The entire (insane) markup is not on the side of BMW, but the government.
