Stock clutch pedal feel question
For folks with a stock M2 clutch setup, what does your pedal feel like when you first start to press it in? Is there ~1 inch of free play OR does the pedal have consistent firm pressure from top to bottom?
I just had an E90 clutch slave cylinder installed on my M2, and I now have some free play at the top, but I'm not sure if maybe it was like that before. My 328i has consistent pressure.

I've also installed the same slave cylinder and noticed softer pedal and some play in the travel afterward. It was super hard to remember what the pedal feel was like before but it did seem a little off so I just rebled the clutch and stopped overthinking it and that was good enough for me. I think the play was always there I just wasn't aware till I did the mod because I became more sensitive/aware of it.

Same here. I did the same swap, and either that feeling has become my new normal or the extra play has gone away. Either way, the benefits of the mod clearly outweigh whatever the burden of that play may be, for me. I've also done the UCP though, so I can't rightly say what it would be like with the purely stock clutch. But with the UCP, I experienced the same phenomenon...

i dont feel any free play..but the clutch some times feels like it sticks when you let go of the clutch from a cold start until it warms up...mine feels linear but i just removed my cdv, but i didnt change my slave cylinder due to complaints to using the e90 version

I assume more fluid push, means a better response, less 'wall' blockage but I can also see how that can affect the feel of the linear clutch pedal play. |
