Exhaust mods, now MDM is louder than Sport Modes?

OK, so recently I installed the Fabspeed Sport Cat and Dinan resonator delete on my otherwise stock M2 LCI. The sound is incredible, and I'm loving every second of it.

However, the weird thing is that MDM now sounds louder and more aggressive than Sport and Sport +. Before these exhaust mods it was absolutely the other way around, with MDM only increasing the pops/bangs/burbles on throttle lift-off. No question at all that I prefer the sound of MDM to Sport now.

Has anyone else with these particular mods experienced this?

Interesting. Thanks for the response.

I guess my issue now is that I'm missing the throttle response of Sport.

Everything will probably change again when I get a tune, and again with something else. Oh well.

I'm probably getting a tune before any upgrades just to address stuff like cold startup, rev matching, and throttle response.

The only change will be to sport+ mode throttle to bring it down to sport mapping. That way sport+ will basically be sport with MDM

Do you still have ASD active? If so, try coding it out or get a bypass harness...

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'll try that. But man, I do love the sound as-is.

My decatted M235i was like this. Comfort was louder than Sport and Sport+. I’m sure it resonated differently inside the pipe when the flap on one side got closed (both are open in sport modes.) Needless to say I coded out ASD and never drove in Comfort mode.

My M2 has the stock downpipe and comfort is quieter to the point I don’t even mind ASD.
