Update: After splicing the brake sensor leads together, and performing the reset procedur in the video below, the warning messages are gone.

——

I have a damaged pad wear sensor (front). Question is: will a new sensor eliminate brake system warnings, or will I need to have a shop reset the system electronically after swapping in this new sensor?

Background:

I had the dealer flush my brakes with fresh SRF this week, and they also installed stainless lines. All is great, except the tech damaged a pad wear sensor.

I soldered the broken wires together as recommended in an old F87 thread, but still get the warning light and startup notification on the infotainment screen.

Switching the pad sensor may work alone, if it doesn't you can reset the brake warning yourself:

You’ll have to do this after changing out the sensor(s). I had to do this last year when I left the sensors in place on my track pads.
