Like you I'd not thought about it from day 1 of ownership, but always did it when putting new brakes on. I didn't want to do the typical 60-10 stops while breaking in the car, so haven't to this point, but wondered if you did bed your brakes from the start or have done so sense? Thanks! |

I have over 17K miles and it still squeaks coming to a stop. Like everyone says, it's a M thing as annoying as it is. Surprised BMW never had that figured out because their supplier is Brembo

Try this - Cleaning your rims!
My brakes were squeaking non stop after 500 miles on the odometer. I've tried everything from the bedding procedure going 60-10mph to 80/100-10mph, which worked but the squeaking came back in a couple of days. Last weekend I went to go wash my wheels and used iron-x to clean up all the brake deposits. Now the brakes don't squeak at all. 🙌 |

Most likely caused by a layer of debris/deposits on the OEM pads and rotors
Before driving out, hose down the brake rotor and calliper (never perform this when the brakes are hot) for like a minute on each corner, drive the car and after 10 minutes if the squeaking goes away then that is the cause. After several hard braking attempt or given a few days the low speed squeaks or sometimes a squeal can return and you will then have to hose down the brakes again to get rid of it. |

Ive just started using Ferodo DS2500 and there's zero squeal, unlike the stock pads that would be noisy on light application coming to a stop.
Ive also noticed that pressure washing the dust from the rotors and stock pads eliminates noise for 100 mi or so. I like the P&S brake buster mixed at 2:1. Last edited by n8dgr84; 08-19-2021 at 12:35 PM.. |

Mine are always noisy driving around town. But all noises disappear after autocross event. Only to come back after few days of street driving. They just need to be used much harder and it's all good.
