Hi all,

It's time for me to swap out my brakes. Any recommendations on which ones to get? Not planning on tracking the car but would like them to have a good bite and less brake dust.

Thank you!

Mmh I think so. I was thinking that I'll need to replace both, but I could be wrong. Can the rotors go 2 rounds of pads?

What have you been driving like that would wear the rotors below their minimum thickness?

Obvs, if the discs are heavily grooved, they will need refacing anyway, but...

I'm not aware of any special pads available for the hood. Good luck!

you can still have pretty good but slightly less bite than OEM pads if you swap to Akebono Euros. The trade off is worth it for virtually no dust.

You won't get better braking without having dust though. that's the tradeoff

Absolutely Akebonos'. I had had it with the dust...so switched at 13K just for the reason. Dust went from a 9 down to a two. Track days are done for me, so its spirited driving elsewhere. AND when broken in correctly you will have the bite you need. I am very impressed and used Ferodo's on track for years in Vintage racing. And after some months, they actually continue to get better at the pedal. Good luck with you choice.

My friend suggested Alcon for rotors if money isn't a concern.

Rock Auto does a fine job.
BTW--all who moving to these pads, do some intel on break in process, and especially if you replace pads AND discs. Not getting the heat and repeat, cool down process done correctly may not give you the results you thought you would get. And there are differing opinions -- so just do some searching. Akebono pads alone is not a severe break-in at all. I just went further as I replaced discs. Went with Pagid..love those discs.

I went with the Akebono's as well (my car is 100% street), and they are fantastic.

As far as bed-in, I did none, it's a street pad.

The Ferodo DS2500 are one of the most versatile sport/race brake pads on the market. They can be used for road, autoX, and even light track duty. They have great bite with moderate dust. You can see the full description on our site here: https://www.essexparts.com/brake-pads/ferodo-brake-pads

For the OG M2 'blue brakes', here are the parts:

Front= https://www.essexparts.com/ferodo-ds2500-brake-pads739
Rear= https://www.essexparts.com/ferodo-ds2500-brake-pads742

We have a whole bunch of these in stock and ready to ship today!
