The last one (interior shot) doesn't seem to trust so much his hand break (as he left the car in gear) , had the same problem with my car -> BMW really should re-check their factory setting...

The stripes look awful IMHO on that dirty LBB...

That's one massive conclusion you've jumped to there.

Here we learn in driving school to always leave the car in gear to add an extra level of safety.

Exactly.

How flyaway can assume that the driver didn't trust his handbrake is beyond me.

Those stripes combined with those wheels on LBB... what a fail

Let's hope the car at Geneva with all the performance parts and the stickers is white...

Exactly. Are there any advantages to NOT put it in gear?

In Europe, especially in the large cities, where the majority of people use to frequently "bump" the others car when in line parking (i.e.) you might be less susceptible of getting a broken pinion in your gearbox...

The hand break (correctly set up) should be more enough to immobilize the stationary car, IMHO, I leave my car in gear only in freezing winter or after a track session (even if I always do a cooling lap).

By the way, as others on this forum have already mentioned, expressing your opinion (even half joking) in the M2 section is almost a given privilege, M2 future ownership seems to be highly (fortunately non exclusively) associated to self-righteousness and not only...

I've seen this in France, are there more countries that do this idiotic maneuvers?

They also happen on a regular base in our country and especially with those who have a drawbar on there cars. It happened to me a couple of times. Therefore I hate leaving my car where they park in rows.

And unfortunately many people take the word "bumper" too literally.

Damn those stripes look horrible and on LBB, even worse.

I'm hoping this photo gets deleted by the photo police, no one else needs to go through the pain i just experienced by seeing this.

Italy, for example. And other countries where they don't have much space for cars.

Been to Genoa once and paid a few bucks for a spot in a shady parking garage. As they were trying to save as much as space as possible, they pushed the car into the spot leaving 0,000cm between the cars... They just don't care.

... Usually, I just leave it in gear - no need for the handbrake if it is on a flat surface.
