However, I don't think Camaro SS would get more than 15mpg in the city. I just checked fueleconomy.gov and even the V6 has 18mpg. |

That fleet manager was bragging, because 7 is a lot when you consider there were 740 1Ms delivered and i would bet that no dealer in the country got more than 7-9. I rather doubt that any Texas dealer got that many. That info is also a very good predictor of how many M2s will come in .. Because EVENI IF THEY DOUBLE U.S. PRODUCTION ' , the busiest dealers would only get around one allocation a month. |

This is great advice. Except for the Oregon part. That just makes my wait longer.

A Stingray with the same engine and transmission is rated at 17 in town, so the Camaro might match that or get 16 mpg. Stingray's are rated for 29 on the highway. DCT's do not have the extreme overdrive available on a Stingray and will probably only rate around 25 on the highway. My 135i with a DCT is rated 18/25. I usually get 20 in the city and 28 on the highway.

I'm either going to get an M2 to go beside my 1M or trade/sell my 1M to get the new C63S AMG Coupe. I know way different cars but the AMG is AWESOME and have you seen the pics of the grey one floating around? Beautiful! $$$

My first choice would have been a Cayman GT4 but the situation is even worse it is also a bit more expensive. Another possibility wich would have been cheaper was buying a used 1M.

I honestly think the new Camaro 2SS is really sweet. It sounds really good and the interior is fresh. Still don't like the Hot-wheels look about it, though. It is unquestionably badass, however.

I have been trying really hard to put my name down on a waitlist since last week. Finally, I found a dealership in CA and I'm the number 4. We'll see if I will be able to get this beauty

For me there are no alternatives...
The wife said: 1. It has to be German 2. It has to be a coupe 3. It can't be a Mercedes 4. It can't be an A/S 5, she doesn't like the look 5. It can't be a VW, just because it can't Hence, M2. My wife makes great decisions! |

I prefer new cars and wasn't prepared to stay in my 235 for another year, so I got a 981 CS and have been very happy. My girl is looking at an F80 or potentially an M2, so I might end up with the best of both worlds - NA goodness and some turbo-torque. My folks have a Mini Countryman S and that thing is a ton of fun...I am sure the JCW would be a blast.

It's funny how things work out.
I was #1 on waiting list for 1M when I had 135i. I ended up forfeiting my position, because 135i was just 2 years old at a time. I was hoping one day I will get M2 when it is ready. Each year I was contacting back to my CA, making sure that I got M2 waiting list covered. Once I came to Steven's Creek BMW for service and talk to CA about M2, they laughed at me because car wasn't even in plans, but I insisted about it, and they ended up creating a new folder for me. And finally one day before M2 was announced, I put an order for M4 and now I'm waiting for it to be shipped to CA. M2 will definitely be a good car, no questions, but it just seems not good enough. |

OP, you should get you a slightly used Corvette Stingray. I was never a big fan of the Corvettes, or most domestic cars, but after driving this beast for sometime I would definitely recommend it.
