I think it has been explained pretty well. It has been several months since I drove the G87. It was an auto demo that wasn't broken in yet. The G87 felt bigger, heavier and had numb steering. The auto shift wasn't as crisp as my DCT. It definitely wasn't lacking power.
I got to drive the G87 on city streets, the freeway, and sone twisties on Mercer Island. I definitely would prefer it over a G series M3 or M4. But I preferred the handling and style of my F87. Dan

"Flying brick" Just heard this nickname from a mechanic today. LOL
If someone really wanna own one of these, black paint is the only option cuz it hides all incomplete design. Awkward body lines disappear from certain angle if it's black. And people putting carbons on this car would be like stack patches on an accident car. More distance more hilarious it looks. But I have to admit, S58 indeed is a beast, and interior/seats are truly upgraded. |

First time I’m seeing the MPerf bits…. And holy hell are they ever bad. Yikes. Looks like something you’d find at Canadian Tire/Pep Boys. Especially the side panel. Whoa. Can not unsee.

I am frankly shocked that anyone likes how these MPerf add ons look. It really confuses me.

I agree. The M Performance carbon bits are terrible on the G87. They are actually worse in person than my photo shows.

Maxton did a really good job to save the look. Cost 1/5 of M carbon. But again, It's painted in black "What's going on with BMW's design team?! LOL" It feels like they did it on purpose to mess up with something. |

Take a few pictures at just the right angle, in just the right light, with just the right wheels....and viola! Nothing can save that car, but it's possible to HIDE its terribleness with the right tools. |

I was at MPACT this year and there were many G87's. All of the modded black cars actually looked great. The same mods on all of the other colors did not.

Black’s job is to absorb light hence hiding the details which we’re trying to appreciate so we’re left with the overall shape of the vehicle with less sense of its dimensions. |

Hmm. Even in black it is still pretty ugly.

It is so hard to provide evidence that supports the FEW cars that looked good a MPACT. I can't find any pics that capture what I saw.

I do like the rear flares of the G87 from certain angles, but from other angles they just look added on, not so flowing like that of the F87. |

Looks like the type of parts you can get from an autozone in the accessory aisle next to the stick on hood scoop.

when i collected my black F87 it was side by side with a black G87, no doubt i will still pick F87 any day, G87 interior is very nice though.

UK car ...
Test drove a manual a few months back, an hour`s run on country roads ... not impressed
My measure of a `good` car is one that immediately `feels right` and this did not - in any of it`s modes In comparison, my first drive in the F87 OG DCT a year earlier was immediately rewarding, even at slow speeds - edgy with decent feel and well placed / functional controls Granted, the new car was a dealer demo. with low miles and I was ignorant of the new digital layout - functionality ... having to stop to manage some basic function control changes, is there a voice command system to e.g. adjust heater functionality ? I was left with the impression that the Auto. Box would be more suited to the car`s character - being that the car is too heavy and complicated with too much power and insufficient `feel` |
