..because this group will feel my anguish

Home Depot flat bed cart - left loose in the parking lot by some thoughtless human, got caught in the wind and found its way, violently, into my baby. (which was purposely parked in the last spot, furthest out).

Sorry that happened. I always try to park uphill from the cart returns.
My daughters 328i was recently hit by someone pulling in or out of a parking space. Huge dent to passenger door. No note left. PDR saved the door but $650 later. People suck.

Ouch! Hope you are able to sort that out back to factory perfect. The skirts seam easy enough to replace but the quarter panel will require a good PDR person.

Ohh maan.... painful; I would have screamed or even cried for a moment.
The dent seems atleast a quick body shop fix

Sorry man that happened.
I had my own run in with careless people last weekend. What made it worse is that it was someone from a fellow BMW group attending an event put together by one of the members here.
Still waiting for a responsible party to contact me but it's in vain at this point.

I'm sorry, man. Thankfully it's relatively minor.

Damn! That sucks!

People who don't return their carts are terrible. I like Aldi's process where you check out a cart for a quarter and get a refund when you return it. You never see carts in the wild in parking lots.

These are fools, low life's who don't care about others.

Just remember that you are lucky and a normal human being and not like them.

That's an awesome policy!

People who don't return their carts are scum. Just remember, life has already done worse to them than you could.

That flat bed cart is heavy and it will take a very, very strong wind to get it rolling even on wheels. I won't be surprised if some jealous idiot did that on purpose.

Can you ask Home Depot to cover the repair?

thanks to all of you for your condolences. I really don't want to think someone purposely did that, and there was a slight downward slope to the lot (certainly now something to consider). But these days I suppose those people exist.

But I am more worried this whole panel is "f'd" - this is right on the fold and is maybe 3" tall and pretty deep. Not sure a good DPR person fixes this... Or can they? There's a good dent/fold also underneath this towards the skirt which literally has a gash thru it and is bent out at the wheelwell.

I'm heartbroken.

Damn, I thought I had a bad morning when I discovered a small dent above my door handle from what I think was a fallen tree limb. We love our cars and always shudder at newly discovered imperfections

Anyway, Really sorry to see this. Especially if intentional…while annoying to deal with, the car can be fixed. Chances are the human cannot.

I think it's time for a new rear quarter panel and side skirt.

You can ask Home Depot to cover the repair. Same thing happened to my moms Camry in ShopRite.
Took a lil fight with their insurance but they did cover it.
And you could prove that the cart dented the car just by the way the it lines up.
Hopefully the person bought something for their contractor and they screw up the job.
😀
