>> MotorTrend Hotlap With Randy Pobst - M2C <<
wish they used a better tire. from experience, the PSS just gets too greasy in the track.

Thanks for sharing and no disrespect for Mr Pobst, but this footage seems to me a bit like an advert/marketing thingy, the way the presenter and Pobst are talking.
I could be wrong. Cheers Robin |

I agree. The commentary is entirely scripted and awkward.
"I got a lot of respect for that tire, Matt" Is Tire Rack trying to sell me tires? I can't tell. |

Sure, it is a Tire Rack ad for Michelin Pilot Sport Cups...but Mr. Pobst did say similar things about the M2C in the recent Motor Trend best driver's car article. Given that, I think his comments are genuine. I'll give Tire Rack a pass as well as I appreciate their commitment to facilitating enthusiasts' access to the best tires (yes, I know their business depends on this, but they do it well).

What a lost opportunity not doing a back to back lap with the Sport Cup 2. What were they thinking. It would be a couple of seconds faster easy and then they'd have a punch line in the video. Instead we are left dangling. |

I can't stand Pobst. He's got a snoody vibe to him. Other than the long pedal comment this was not insightful.

Whenever i hear "I'll tell ya" i cringe a bit. It's the prototypical script phrase to try and make the conversation sound natural.

Depends on the configuration, but you are remembering right for the above configuration. Also, in the video you can tell his flying start was not ideal, he came out a bit unsettled at the last turn. Wonder if someone can find the data and video of the OG M2 and compare the speed for the flying start.

You’re way off base because he’s a super nice guy in person. He races cheap cars with Lucky Dog all the time. He’ll talk to any driver who comes up to him and share his knowledge and love for racing.
