Oh sweet! That's not too bad then. And hopefully the parts are coming in steadily and you'll have it out sooner, than later.

Yep, the dealer refused to return my money because the part will be here any time now.
When I asked them what is the latest updates, they said they will give me updates tomorrow.

Frustrating .

Mine won't even answer me when I say I want to cancel. They just deflect and say the part is coming or we'll offer compensation or yada yada yada no real answer. Extremely frustrating and I certainly will not be shopping with them again.

Could you consult with a lawyer and get an idea of what your costs would be to recover your payment?

Yes, I have my lawyer ready. It is less about money now. I am just surprised how unprofessional the dealership is.

Cheers.
Would you mind sharing which dealer?? Was it automatically shipped by BMW without a tracking and just popped up at the dealer front door?...I still feel like if parts are shipped the dealer would at least have some info.

A no cost loaner, and if your finance paperwork hasn't been processed, a delay before processing until you get the completed car. If it has, then cover for your first payment. That's where I would start

He is in Canada. It may be different for them vs US.

Got you. Still NA which is not too far off from logistics standpoint. An earlier post indicated that his car got fixed within a week after the recall went live. So a fix is definitely available and it is just a matter of having sufficient part or not to me.

I'm getting a loaner and my firat payment isn't due until 45 days after recall is completed. The dealer said on top of that there will be some sort of compensation. I like the first payment and M school since SC isn't too far away. If it's a quick turn around I'll go with something like that. Let's say it takes them until july like some dealers are estimating i was thinking maybe try for some MP coilovers, at that point i would be 2 months without my car. Too much?

Sounds reasonablish. Depends how much BMW NA/your dealer cares. If your BMW dealer is giving you a lot without you asking for much, BMW NA probably doesn't know they gave it to you and there could be some leverage there (you won't give me X, well I'll call BMW NA and see what they will offer). BMW NA May not do shit, but if your dealer wants to cover their ass and not be reported, they may play ball.

Guys I’m in the same boat with my 2020 M4
I was at the dealer today and the sales manager
Confirmed that the parts have shipped to the dealers. I’m in the LA area so hopefully by next week they will replace the airbags
I never for a second thought about canceling my order. It will be worth the wait

Great news. Glad its working out for you.
Others are in a slightly different predicament.
Cars stuck at Processing centers with no time frame on a fix.
July for an update on the situation is not good.

By the sounds of some of the recent posts, it's as if dealerships are getting parts trickling in. Meanwhile my car is at the port still... shouldn't those have been the first priority?

I don’t know if the cars at the port is first priority. I’m assuming BMW has to pay dealers for “storage” so the ones at the dealer I would imagine have priority. But we are all just guessing here

It depends. If one VIN gets flagged, the assumption is that all similar vehicles should be flagged with a port campaign but that is not always the case.

As for who gets parts (port or dealer) it's really a crap shoot, at least for the knee airbags because the dealership I am close with has received a limited amount of airbags but some of their vehicles at port are just stuck there with no ETA since dealerships don't get a comprehensive update on what happens at port.
