Ugh made a bmw newb mistake... so I was trying to jack up the passenger front wheel under what I was thinking as the proper jack point and must have had something missaligned and the plastic jack point "box" exploded out the sides and now the jack point "box" seat thing is missing large chunks of material. Is this going to be a problem?

Wonder if BMW would replace it under warranty... Does anyone know if its just a part that can be unclipped/removed and easily replaced with a new one or is it a part of the frame etc (it now feels slightly wiggly or very ever so slightly loose)?

They can be removed and replaced.

There should be a rivet in the middle with a pin that can be pulled out and will let it fall down - they are very cheap to replace (<$10).

Like the others said easy to replace. Something like this makes jacking life easier...

Lots of variants out there. Also can get something similar to work with jack stands.

Cripes, what sort of jack were you using?

You don't really need the jack adapter if your jack has a large enough rubber pad.

No workshops including BMW ever use them , just the rubber pads on the lifts are fine.

One of those small red floor jacks that you can buy from Harbor Freight. The problem was it has too small of a jack plate (I thought it would be a wide enough diameter but it wasn't). Then I assumed the jack pad on the M2 was a stronger material given its made for jacking up the car. I was wrong on a few different assumptions here. My first BMW so some things I'm learning by trial and error. I've used the same red floor jack on all the previous cars I've owned without issue, so my confidence was a little higher than it should be for the jack points on the BMW.

I like to drive the car up on ramps and then utilize the front/center factory jack point. Go from there placing jack stands.

That is an excellent idea. I have the wheel ramps already and I didn't even think about using those to lift the front just enough to get the jack under the center and then place stands on the side. Thanks! I'll keep this in mind for removing two wheels at a time.
