Mine (1st design) was tig welded all the way around. It's as stiff as a board and appears to be one solid pipe from front to back. No rattles. Drone is the same as it was with my resonator delete dinan pipe & stock muffler.

A little update...
The problem was a wiring issue apparently. They replaced the faulty wiring. Easy fix... and euh... I think the MPE was broken from the start  No wonder I was quite underwhelmed by it!The sound is completely transformed. A-MA-ZING  !No more rattles when cold start, the drone is still present but I don't care, it's different. The sound is so much more warm, present, loud, rumbling, alive, head-turning...
