I can only classify that particular fixation as weird. You’d have to be about 4’6” to notice it. Even when driving.

Nah. Im 6'1" and certainly noticed it.

I feel like M2C owners get butthurt about it. Fact is its there and its ugly. Its a minor concern on an otherwise perfect car. But dont try and deny you cant see it.

Standing at the dealership now looking at a LCI and Comp the difference in the exhaust can/visibility is night and day. I thought some photos were trying to exaggerate the size on purpose however standing about 3-4 meters back you can't miss it.

Regardless nothing is ever perfect as we all wish. I think I will change my plate to nuts.

Any idea why BMW considers our vehicles F22s and not F87 in Australia? I've noticed that the M2s are being registered as F22 coupes in Australia.

Here is the government database, and they are also listing it as an F22. This is based on manufacturer supplied data and is not a mistake.

Being older than 12, I had to look up the term “butthurt”. Not sure it is applicable.

There’s a better term for people that obsess over it though.

"Anorak" /ˈænəræk/ is a British slang which refers to a person who has a very strong interest, perhaps obsessive, in niche subjects. This interest may be unacknowledged or not understood by the general public.

Unfortunately i don't know the reasoning behind it but it's not just an F series thing, my E82 135i was listed as an E87 on the Aus compliance sticker.

Fyi my M2 says F22 on the Australian compliance sticker but states F87 on the vehicle rego papers. Nothing to worry about.

...until someone interstate buys it second hand in 15 years time, and the ID inspector at the rego office in the new state has a bureaucratic hissy fit (oh, yes...it happens 🙄 )

Got these pics thanks to the dealer, who I have been annoying probably to their wits end! He's been so helpful. But the good news is I'll be collecting it tomorrow. SO EXCITED!!

I've been waiting nearly a month as I just bought a pre-built allocation, luckily had everything I wanted. Cannot imagine waiting 6 months..

HS w/ Orange. Jet Black wheels. No sunroof. Standard brakes. Yay!

God no. I can barely stomach Melbourne traffic as it is. DSG for me. Sorry to the purists, but no shame here!

Good choice. As a lifetime manual driver (my first car at 18 was a BMW 320 manual) I can tell you DCT is more involving than manual if you choose to shift your own gears. Just need to go in with an open mind and learn. Ironically, if you grew up driving manuals you will understand it better and enjoy it more. But humans generally don’t like change.

As an auto it works well enough. But you’d never choose to drive it that way unless forced.

Also. Nice car! Looks so high riding on those shipping blocks.

Haha fair enough, each to their own. BMW clutches are so light that I've never found them tiriing even in traffic.

Either way, both options suit the car IMO.

I'm the same way grew up with manuals. The big thing for me in the city is not so much the shifting, it's the clutch foot! Wears you out after a while in traffic. I def don't mind DSG shifting.

I totally didn't even see the shipping height. That's from blocks they put in the springs from what I recall isn't it?

Interesting how we have different perspective. I enjoy pdk/DSG for track driving where everything is faster. Helps me focus on braking and cornering better.

On the road or twisties where everything is much slower I'd always prefer a manual to enjoy the heel toeing and throttle control the clutch gives you. I remember how intoxicating driving a friend's pdk GT3 RS was on track then being utterly bored driving it on street. I've never driven a manual I didn't like though in any situation.

Tried to use the paddles in my DSG but just never enjoyed it enough to continue.

It’s probably a lot easier with the M2C manual as it’s an assisted sort of hybrid. But yes traffic can be annoying, especially if you live in a hilly place.

Yes the ride height is bang on at delivery. Amazing it still has so much travel. I took it over some really bumpy curvy roads the other day and the way it was so unphased was incredible.

Fair enough. I do still have another car that’s manual.

For me though. I just love this paddle shifting thing. Makes me grin like a loon and that’s the main thing.
