These situations are far more common that most would think. I follow the industry very closely and this happens a couple of times a months and it impacts every manufacture from Ferrari to Kia so its not something unique to BMW. These have become more common since the Chevy Cobalt scandal and the many law suits and federal fines that followed. The recall and stop sell rates a many times what they used to be. Of course most of the time its just some car sitting in the back lot waiting to go through PDI and that doesn't have a customer waiting.
Yes. Agree on all counts. Still, twice on the same vehicle, in the first 6 months of production.. Are you saying that's common ?

I'm not saying it's anything to be alarmed about, that's what warranties are for also. Just not a good harbinger ,

Add to that the half a dozen or so roundels we've seen fall off on the forum alone.

Mine has been jerking heavily while applying gentle throttle on a down hill slope.

Anyone else experiencing this?

If it's not impacted by the differential hold, there could be some small shipping damage that needs to be fixed. Cars get held at the port for things like this often. Anyway, just possible speculation for why the delay if it otherwise isn't part of the stop sell order. Your dealer should be able to tell you exactly why it hasn't moved.

Is it just USA or anywhere? Mine would have been built smack bang in the middle of that timeline!

Yup...wait god knows how long for the car and now she has to go back.

Oh joy!

Should those affected be getting some sort of compensation perhaps? Might be a long shot!

How about the keys to a loaner vehicle so you can put some free miles on #not-your-car while yours is being worked on ?

Aside from that .. A properly functioning vehicle isn't good enough ?

They were holding cars at the VPC awaiting for the bulletin to be released and it just came out Saturday. My car has been there since July 7. They finally updated the status to Friday. I'm not affected!

Here is the list for those wondering.

My M2 was built July 16th and its VIN falls after all the M2 VIN's listed below by 18 cars. I think it may be safe to assume that, if your car was built June 16th or later, you're probably not affected.
