question about Euro Adaptive LED + Euro MDM on US cars

Is there any way to code the Euro version of Adaptive LED headlights and Euro MDM settings on a M2C ?

I don't see it on Bimmercode, but I thought someone said it was possible...can any one confirm? If so, can it only be done with ESYS or is there an easier way?

This thread has all the info you need for the headlights. I think the conclusion is that no one has gotten it to work 100% yet.

For Euro MDM, these threads seem helpful.

And you're correct, both option would need to be coded via ESYS.

In theory yes, but they probably aren't going to function correctly since there are some major hardware differences between the US and Euro LED headlight components.

VLD and GFHB can actually be done in bimmercode:

thanks for the input Andrew...

so if both VLD and GFHB are "available" in Bimmercode, but the hardware is different in US vs Euro, I assume you guys would recommend NOT to do it and leave it alone?

I don't really see the harm in attempting to code in VLD as it's strictly a low beam feature that changes the angle of your low beams (depending on road speed) but I think I speak for most people when I say it's not recommend you try to code/use GFHB on US spec lights (as malfunctioning high beams could pose a real danger to others on the road).

VLD seems to work great in my car, but I have a '17 (which has Adaptive Xenons, not LEDs) so YMMV.

I too have VLDs activated with the help of andrewc89
Not only do I get better visibility at turn-in, I also enjoy watching the HIDs follow as I turn... quite entertaining

It's odd that this coding does not seem to be a problem at all on the F80/2/3 platform, but does seem to be on the F87 platform. Does anyone know why?

The coding itself isn't a problem, the issue is that North American LED headlight hardware for the 2 series/M2 is quite different from its European counterpart.

My headlights follow turns now without coding. Is the VLD only a low beam speed thing? And what does it do?

All adaptive headlights do that. That's not the same thing as VLD.
