Yeah, unfortunately these were the OEM equipment and I didn’t look into it enough. I’ve had Blizzaks on my old 335i and there were still some days with very heavy snow I couldn’t make it up that hill, but not near as often. Overall the 335 handled much better, more planted.. guessing it’s because of the longer wheelbase. Even in a light dusting the m2 is almost too tail happy for me.

Definitely the wrong tires. Calling them snows would be generous.

I ended up with Hankook ICept Evo2s, and I'm quite happy with them even in the wide OE size. Lots of hills and steep driveways here in the south of Germany, but no issues at all making it up. They are also less pricey than X Ice or Alpine tires.
