I didn't know that was something I could specify, so I guess I'm getting standard. It probably wouldn't match the other blue stitching if I went with it anyway.

I'm fairly impressed with the colour-match of ZPrime's wool mats with blue stitching on the previous page actually. I've reached out to Cocomats for some samples of Woven Vinyl, Sisal, and Nylon 6.6 all with blue stitching.

I had the original cocomats in black with blue dots in my Golf R, but considering going a different route this time in the M2.

Oh, Looking at the first page he says it doesn't match and he wishes he could have them redo it in real polar blue. I wonder if IND can send some polar blue stitching over to cocomats. I know they custom stitch some M2 interior parts in house.

Yeah, the Cocomats blue thread is... close-ish. I'd say it is closer to the blue used on the 235/240 interior stripe option, not sure what they call that blue but it's one of the trim piece options on a "regular" 2-series.

I still like the contrast even though it doesn't match; I just wish it matched.

Have seen these in a lot of old 356 Porsches and some 911s and they look great. Can't decide whether or not they would look good in our cars though.

I got my coco mats today. Here's some brief things worth mentioning.

I placed my order on March 14th, they shipped April 8th, I received them April 11th. So it was a bit more than their 2-3 week shipping estimate.

These mats are HEAVY. Here are the weights of the front two mats combined compared to OEM and Weathertech.

Cocomats - 8.2lbs
OEM Mats - 2.6lbs
Weathertech - 3.2lbs

And finally, here is a picture.

Got my samples today, and the blue definitely doesn't match well with the polar blue stitching. Whoever said it matches the 2-series blue trim piece in the "lesser" 2s is probably right.

Not sure which way I'll go now, as I want to change it up from the Black with Blue Dots cocomats I had in the Golf R even though the blue dots match polar blue pretty well.

I like the Sisal and Nylon 6.6, but afraid it'll look too boring for such expensive mats if I don't go with blue stitching. It really is a bummer they don't have a more similar blue (I asked).

Did you try asking IND if they could work with you to get polar blue stitching? I know they're able to get it, so maybe they could ship some to cocomats. Or ship it to you and you ship it to coco. Try asking them.

Here is a thread with more info on where/how to get the Polar Blue thread.

As requested, here are a few pictures of the Lloyds Luxe mats with the Pedal Haus heelpad. I am also adding pics of the heelpad with the stock mats. Apologies for the pictures showing up in random order. You will figure it out !

Lloyds with heelpad. Best combo out there IMHO. I don't know how to flip pics sorry, the app does it on its own. Bear in mind the heelpad is not attached and would sit more flush with the mat once fastened.

How is that heel pad "attached" to the mats?

By using 4 screws and nuts included with the pad. You need to drill through the mat, and I like to attach 4 small round felt pieces so the nuts dont get caught in the car's floor. Probably overkill to be honest.

I'm currently waiting for iND to get back to me about letting me purchase a spool of polar blue thread. Cocomats is aware of this and informed me I'll need a thicker "density" if I go with the OG coco mats.

I ordered a set of the originals for the 911 a few weeks ago. Not here yet, but I’ll post a picture when they are.

Idk but I've got a 1954 Merc that has those, not sure if original or not, but I associate it with classic cars and like it. I haven't seen it in a modern car tbh.

Resurrecting this old thread. My car hasn't even been built yet, but I've already ordered and received my Cocomats for it. I've been using these for almost 20 years on a metric buttload of different cars, and they are always my first purchase. Pictures don't convey the quality of these mats, you really have to experience them in the flesh to fully get tit.

Lots of comments about shedding. The original cocomats from the '70s had no backing and shed like a giant shaggy dog. Between the thick rubber backing and the way they make the mats nowadays, this has been about 99% solved. I *rarely* find any shedded material in either of my (current) cars.

As for the concern about the blue dots not matching the blue M2 stitching, I think it's close enough to not matter. My stitching will be orange so I ordered orange dots. I think these will look great in the car. When it finally gets here.

While I wouldn't put them in my M2 just as a matter of personal preference, I got a pair (classic black with blue dots) for my Miata in the fall of 2019 and I'm really happy with them. After 20+ years of use, the OEM driver's side floor mat had become a shredded mess, but Mazda had stopped producing replacements for my car! Coco Mats to the rescue. The first driver side mat they sent had the heel pad a little bit too far down the mat, so the heel of my shoe got caught on the back edge of it when pressing the clutch pedal; however, Coco Mats customer service was very good, and they sent me a new driver's mat the following month.
