How much of that damage was there before? I’ve seen marks from a tire iron but that looks more like curb rash.

Oh... if the dealer did all that, then I’m saying new rims.

This isn't true in my experience. I've had two of my 437's repaired by a local wheel repair shop and they look indistinguishable from the other two that weren't damaged.

If the dealership damages your car and they're the one's paying then obv ask for new wheels but if you damage them yourself you can easily repair each one for ~$150-200 at a decent wheel repair place. Replacing a wheel out of pocket for $800+ is just ridiculous.
Agreed. I had two rims refinished and look good as new. I must have gone to the 1 or 2 shops that do a good job.

If the dealership scratched a wheel on my car the GM would have me on their back until a new wheel was ordered. In this kind of situation the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

This is why I take close up pictures of my car right before pulling into any service center...

I took my 335is in for service at Long Beach BMW. The tech took the car through the MC'D's drive through and curbed the back wheel. I found the MC'D's receipt in my car. Confronted the dealer, asked for a new wheel. They tried to tell me they'll repair it. I said no, you will replace it. They ended up replacing it and went to MC'D's got the surveillance footage of their tech driving my car through the drive through.

Man, this guy was asking for trouble. You can smell McDonald's fries for like 2 hours if they have been in the car for more than 5 minutes. Leaving the receipt too, who does that? Poor attention to detail, would bet his work is sub-par.

Yep, not a bad idea. My local dealership does a full walkaround with you to confirm every ding and scratch when you pull in. Dashcam is not a bad idea either if just to keep them honest.

I take 360 degree stills and 4k 60fps video of car before it goes somewhere where potential shenanigans can occur.

Smart… I do the same

I am taking my fronts in to have fresh rubber installed finally and I think I'm less nervous when I go to the dentist

I took my car in to Discount Tire to have my Cup2 Connect 240 tires mounted. I use DT because they have a touchless machine. Of course it was broken... I just emphasized that if they're careful it should be fine. They assigned their most experienced tech and all was good except the silver wheel weights 🙄.
BTW, the Cup2 240s are the bomb!

I had the 4S on my M235i. They were upsized and had much better grip than the original set of MPSS. However as you say, the 4S has good grip but softer sidewalls so they loose road feel and I found that air pressure was critical. Since the MPSS has a 300 wear rating and the new Cup 2s have a 240 wear rating I'm hoping they wear ok even though they have a shallower tread depth. So far the switch has been really positive and they are even Star rated.

Yeah I might consider swapping them out before I really use them
