LBB vs SO
Hello everyone!
Long time lurker and really, this is my first post! So I finally decided to pull the trigger and order a M2C. I have two contracts in front of me. One for LBB and the other for SO. I know this is been beaten like a dead horse, and I've read all the other threads, but I'm signing one of these contracts tonight and just wanted to hear your opinions. My gut says SO as I've owned two other blue cars previously, but I'm honestly worried about how it looks out of the sunlight. On photos it looks bronze instead of orange, which is off-putting to me. But in the sunlight, it looks great. I know LBB looks turquoise in the sunlight, but I don't mind that. I just need some color in my life, especially in the winter months! What also makes it difficult is that I can't seem to find any to look at in person... So what do you think? Does SO really look bronze out of the sunlight and turns into a dull color? Or should I just got with LBB? Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. Just need some advice so I can just sign one of these damn contracts! Lol |

I like how SO changes so much. It does pop and look great in direct sun but still good looking (and unique) in shade. Here are a few different looks of mine.
PS: I would have chosen LBB but I had that in an X4 and a friend had an LBB M2 so SO was different. Plus I saw one that looked awesome in the sun. PPS: People confuse SO with Sakhir Orange. I finally saw them side by side. Sakhir has more red while Sunset is more copper/orange.

OP, I realize you realize nobody can make this decision for you and subjectivity is abound . . .
The above stated, the LBB and SO are both rather 'unique' colors, while HS, Black and White options are more 'neutral' or 'standard' when it comes to color palates seen on the roadways. If you are fixed to obtain LBB or SO, I do not think there is any rhyme or reason to the decision other than which you prefer. If your one criterion is how they look in different lighting, I think they both have their merits and pitfalls regarding hue. I would personally just go with the color you like most and forget about the changes in hue associated with lighting conditions. ///AVM |

The benefit to getting either is that you can get matching stitching. That being said i've always been drawn more towards the LBB rather than SO. I got mine in BSM so i cant really give a true opinion since BSM looks the best imo. But if i had, i'd vote LBB.

SO is the greatest and best M2C color. With the options I wanted I could have purchased any of the other colors off of dealer lots, but not sunset orange. I liked the color enough to order a car and wait three months for it to arrive. It was worth the wait. It looks amazing and I get a ton of compliments on it.

Go with SO if you never want your car to be confused with an OG M2 since most of those were LBB.
I prefer solid blues and oranges rather than metallic, so I might not be your best bet for advice between these two finishes! |

Here is the comparison pic between Sunset and Sakhir. Unfortunately it was very overcast, and my car was filthy from doing skid pad training. Plus you can't see the difference since it is very subtle. In bright sun I imagine their to be more of a difference.

I get constant compliments on my LBB '18, such a fantastic color, and quite different in a sea of blue cars out there.
But I have to say, SO with black 763's is just absolute money. If I was going to get a Comp, I'd have a hard time deciding between the two. |

Color is COMPLETELY subjective. Get what you want. Nobody is going to be driving your car but you so the opinion of strangers on the internet is null.
Now, with that out of the way, go with HS as that is objectively the best color.

Completely understand your hesitation, went through the same thing. One thing to know, both these colors are mixed with metallic flakes, which means every single picture you see posted with all these different hues are all real. Granted some might be because of how certain cameras interact with reflection and ambient lighting. The truth is, both these colors will change based on environmental lighting. So my suggestion is take a look at all these different hued photos, combine them in your mind knowing at one point in your ownership you will see that specific hue. Then pick the one you like better. Can't go wrong with either one though! Both are eye grabbing colors. |

I had the same dilemma before I bought my M2C. I've had black, silver and white cars all my life, and I wanted something different this time. The best thing I did was saw each car on the same day. This way I can compare and see how they look and how I'd feel when I see each car. I test drove the SO first and it really stood out - the color, the look, and the entire package. I was ready to make an offer for the SO but decided to see the LBB first from another dealer. When I saw the LBB, I knew it was the right choice. LBB was always the first choice for me and SO second.
If you haven't already seen both cars, I suggest you go and look at them first and decide which you prefer as only you can make that choice. You can't go wrong with either color, as with any of the other available colors. I think you can put any color on the M2C and it will always look good. |

I'd get blue personally. I went with black because my purchase spec has EVERYTHING I wanted, except for the color (blue).
I'm very partial to blues though...the blue stitching inside is pretty sweet as well ! |

My take is that you won't regret with either color. The LBB and SO both are incredible under the sun. I am also a blue person but imo LBB is a little more common than SO. SO is not offered in the OG after all. It's a draw for me and i happened to see a good deal on SO so I jumped ship to it.

I was going through the same thing when I got my M2C. I finally put it into the hands of fate and told the dealer my specs and said either LBB or SO are the only colors I wanted. The only car in the country at the time with my specs was an LBB, so that is what I drive.
As others have said I do not think you will be disappointed with either, but only you can decide. Congrats either way!!!

If I had to do it over, I'd get LBB again...but do the Stealth PPF wrap on the entire car and make it a real dope flat LBB, which isn't very common. It's also not cheap to do, so yeah.
If that isn't in your cards, you can't go wrong with either color.

You only took two hours to decide that, based on the time of your posts. Sounds like you already had your mind made up.

As I wanted a manual and a stock car..... i dont like waiting....... i only had a choice between a Black and SO. Black cars are too much like hard work to clean and they hide the bumps and bulges too much so i went for the SO.
My first choice would have been HS and then LBB but once the SO arrived i was so pleased with it and given the choice again i would go SO. |

Yeaaaa, I've been looking at this forever and trying to make a decision. I figured after reading some of the responses that I'll be happy with either, I just needed to send it and make it happen. I tend to get paralysis by analysis and overthink everything, so I just decided to go with my gut and get something different!

I like them both. It's funny, I'm not really into flashy colors on my cars (previously all blacks, grays and silvers). I had an allocation in HS even though I don't much like the color since I was worried that LBB and SO would attract too much attention.
But an SO car became unexpectedly available and I thought it looked awesome in person so I went with it, and cancelled my allocation. OP, you're gonna love it. It is so unique and stands out from every other color out there. It tends to hide dirt too which is a blessing coming from my previous BSM E92. |
