LOL! That was my initial setup for years. Wheel Stand Pro and Thrustmaster. I loved it and it worked well. What started the upgrade process was the braking... I could not understand how some people were so much faster. 1-2 seconds, sure no sweat. But 5-7 seconds??? WTF. I couldnt modulate well and trail-braking meant spinning. So the upgrade process began...

Not sure what you are using for a chair (I had used an old dining room chair on my prior setup), but if you can mount it, the Butt Shaker an absolute must. Really transforms the experience IMO.

The stand is Rseat found here --> RSeat. Its kind of spendy, but the quality of the product is amazing. Very very robust and stable. Ships DHL from Europe to your door in less than week (not sure now in 'rona times). You can easily slide it to the FOV you want.

I also ended up with the shock absorber add-on for the pedals. Some people say the elastomer kit is better, but I really like the feel of the damper, feels more realistic.

Got my wheel & pedals last night, fired up Assetto Corsa, & proceeded to spin my way around a few tracks. I'm freaking awful, can't catch a spin for sh!t. Was a lot of fun though. I can see the draw of having a nice rig.

Ok i have the file for you guys... DM me your email addresses and I can share it right from google. Its not perfect, but its pretty fun.

OG, you will see the tire model in iRacing is WAY different (and was recently updated). The cars are much loser. A clear difference between a game and a sim, I suppose. The issue you will have is braking. In cars without ABS its almost impossible not to lock the brakes and still apply them in a racing like manner...

so the trick is... figure out how to change the sensitivity of your equipment. Theres always a way you can dial down the brakes in the hardware such that at full stop on the physical pedal youre only registering 80-85% braking. Trust me... without a 100k setup and fully hydraulic brakes, its the only way.

Yeah I'm awful at braking on iRacing. And then there is my over eagerness to throttle on corner exit... Other than that I pretty much have this mastered

Anyone play rFactor2? Looks like they have the M2 CS Racing.

LOL.

I tried to setup rFactor 2 but for some reason I couldnt figure out how to get it running properly.

I’ve got the big 4 - Pcars, AC, Rfactor, and iRacing. AC and RF2 definitely don’t have a very friendly interface. I’ve been driving the M2 CS R on Road Atlanta trying to get ready for GTA (if it happens).

I installed it - getting it running was definitely a bit of a mess. Would launch it and it would start then close pretty quickly and download an update. Did this a few times & it finally got going. So my top secret trade trick was to keep hitting play...

Haven't played much of anything - but so far I like AC but not a big fan of iRacing. Have not tried Project Cars yet - thoughts?

I've done a couple of laps in rFactor 2 so far in the M2 CS Racing - the force feedback is on full and the slider does not change it at all. Working on figuring that out as it makes for a not very pleasant experience.

Nicely done.

Try Assetto Corsa Competizione. I thought that was a lot of fun!

Off topic... and speaking of the M2Cs Racing - are we going to be able to buy parts off that car?? Ive been infected with your big-wing virus in lieu of COVID, and every day am exploring winged options...

The M235iR wing is around $3k, I expect the CS Racing one to be more. But I’m sure the usual suspects will have it as soon as part numbers are available!

I’ll take the seats, the wing and the center console, for sure!

I know this is a surprisingly unpopular opinion, but I think Project cars 1 (haven’t tried 2) is the best of the lot in terms of physics, tire model, and offline play.

First off, it was developed with Ben Collins (you might know him as the Stig)

The cars react very predictably (unlike iRacing where the tire model is very suspect) and it’s about as hard as it should be. Plus it has a fully fleshed out career mode if you want to compete in championships and move up the ladder. The AI drivers are pretty realistic and the slider helps you fine tune your level of competition. I like to set it to where I am having to drive at my very best to qualify/finish in the top 10. And what’s cool is you can increase it throughout the “race weekend” as you get better at the track.

Knew you couldn't resist the draw of the street wing for long...
I would guess its going to be a bit before we see any oem wings for sale separately. Might see some aftermarket stuff like BeastieBombRacing mentioned.

Looked into Assetto Corsa Competizione - definitely going to give it a try.

Definitely going to look into that one - thanks! A good single player mode is a big plus for me. Thanks!

OK, trust me the pics dont show the wheels very well... in natural light, they complement the car nicely. I like the old school 5 spoke. Will weight them next week but I can already tell you they are significantly improved from the OEM weights.

Thanks guys. At least its something different . Sadly Im loving them a bit too much to track them (yet).

Just did a 60-min stint for ChampCar at RA, online. Its pretty fun if you guys havent tried one of these iRacing enduros. Check out "Hugh Jass" motorsports on Youtube.
