I had an accident with another car, (the fault of the other) and the insurance wants to repair the front diffuser.

Like this one, but with light and that you can see the carbon fiber, especially the top part. Where it is broken
Something like this but zoomed in?

Man, you should tell them that it can't be guaranteed to last like the original. Make them buy you a new one.

the BMW workshop says it can not be repaired, and the insurance expert has sent it to another workshop, I can not make them see reason, I've already explained them in every way I know it is impossible to be as new, I just want to have photos in case they tell me that it's okay, to be able to show them what it's like when it's okay

Must be replaces. Call DOI and file complaint if insurance company starts dicking around.

I will arrive until the end, I have already told them that if they continue like this I will have to denounce him, but before that, I want to see if by the good I can make them put a new one, and I want to have photos so that the difference can be seen. The ones that I have are from afar and don't see the details of the work of art that it is

I'm sorry you had the accident. So annoying. IF there was a way to repair carbon fiber (not sure if there is), the insurance company would probably spend more money in labor than just buying a new splitter. Doesn't make any sense. Good luck and keep us updated.

You can definitely repair it, just make sure you take it to a reputable shop. This repair is fairly straightforward because this component does not see a lot of load(other than aero forces).

Carbon bicycle frames, even in height strain regions, are repaired on a regular basis.

Repairing this is probably cheaper than replacing it though, based on my experience but ymmv.

If not at fault as you stated then push for replacement as they will be charging the other party anyway. Why accept a repair

Never accept that it was repaired, they just try it.
Fix a bike, which is painted, is easier, put the patch, paint and you're done, or if you do not care that the carbon fiber has no continuity well for you.
The diffuser is a work of art, I do not want to paint it or have patches of carbon fiber, it is not repairable.
I have the knowledge that the piece has been sent to a bike shop.
I have spoken with the person who has the order to repair it and he has told me that it will not be as new, it is impossible, for that it is necessary to make it again.
I continue discussions with the insurer, I know that I have the law on my part. It's just a matter of time

Carbon fiber is not fixble !
It's amazing they want to fix parts on a 2018/2019 car.
I live in Israel and by law cars get new and genuine parts until
the car is 2 years old from they day it was delivered to the owner.
Only a new one will do.

That repair is 100% unacceptable (as expected). Structurally it may be 'repaired', but cosmetically it's a disaster.

This is FUD. As someone that has raced a lot of road bikes on carbon, I can assure you that people wouldn't get it fixed if there was even the slightest chance that it would be compromised. I put my life on the line behind the fix, and its indistinguishable from new. You literally would not be able to tell the difference on my repaired carbon MTB and a brand new one.

Watch this video its 18:00 but you'll learn a great deal.

FUD. Carbon is fixed on a daily basis, and on structural components not fashion pieces such as this.

I agree, the company doing the repair needs to do a better job. Look at this video, you can't tell the difference between repaired and brand new:

The shop that repaired it was full of noobs.
