no, height settings have not been touched since the car was lowered. the rear is at the lowest setting (without the perch).

thanks!

Post Alignment Pics

a few people have asked for detailed pics of the car with the new wheels and the clearance with it being lowered.
apologies in advance for the cell phone pics.

some notes:
- car was not parked on level surface
- alignment specs roughly -1.6 fronts and -1.9 rears
- no spacers (5mm fronts made the tires rub the liner)

nice wheels! are they in anthracite? i'm having a hard time deciding on that or race silver...

totally changed my mind of these wheels after seeing them on your car!

question about the -1.6 camber in the front, camber kit required or you can achieve this just by alignment only?

thank you.

- Yes. They are anthracite.
- -1.6 degrees was done without any camber kits. it was from the alignment shop (i originally asked for -2).

so i assume you didn't run into the problem that some other people ran into with needing a 5mm spacer to clear the suspension or something? i read it in some other threads... or even in the Apex wheel thread i believe it was

i'm on kwv3 and my car is pretty slammed... if i went with your same size wheels and tires is it safe to say that i'm not going to need any spacers either?

i guess it all depends on where your front coilover perches are sitting. from what i have read, the perches and/or the progressive springs can sometimes be wide and cause some rubbing with the inner part of the wheel/tire. i had 5mm spacers on my initial install with the wheels and the front tires were rubbing the front fender liner. i suggest that you call Apex directly. they have great support and can offer you guidelines with your personal setup. best of luck and share your pics once you have it all setup.

Well, life took over once again and pressed on fast forward. Picture below was taken after a quick powerwash to clean up the car to get rid of the road grime after 1000 miles driven this weekend. No hands touched the car. Just pressured water/soap and rinsed...then drive.

Xpel and Nanolex Ceramic coating were done by DetailersDomain back in Jan 2019. It is still doing its job VERY WELL!!

she tends to be thirsty (aka small tank)...

so, we went ahead with the AA midpipe and Remus Race exhaust. my first choice for the axle back were the Remus Sport but i was informed that they were sold out and that Remus did not plan on shipping any new items to the US until 2020. i went with the cheapest tips and had them powdercoated.

Thumbs up Apex Cleanup

It was time to put the summer wheels/tires away for the winter and mount the winter set. Before storing the summers, I decided to clean them with some detail spray and a MF towel. It was close to being effortless. The brake dust and road grime just wiped right off!!

Some history...I ceramic coated these wheels with Nanolex purchased from DetailersDomain before they were ever mounted to the car. Click this LINK for the post that shows this coating process.

Here are the pictures...

Winter mode

Well, winter mode is on! Decided to go wider with the rears.

History:
When I purchased the car in Jan 2019, there was not much information available as far as winter tire fitment. I spoke to TireRack and opted for a square 255 setup with Pirelli SottoZero3 tires. This left the rear wheel edges to be very exposed.

Now that I switched to 275 rears, they sit much better.

Anyone interested in buying slightly used 255/35/19 Pirelli Sottozero3? Let me know.

How does the ride compare once you removed the perches? I wouldnt mind going a little lower but taking out the perch seems a bit extreme for me.

And i assume you only removed the rear perches, is that right?

correct. i never drove them with the perches. my guess would be that they would ride the same way. the perches act like a spacer and doesn't really assist in any bump absorption.
