Rennline ExactFit Magnetic Phone Mount

Received an email blast from Rennline today, stating this new product was available.

I had this mount in my F80. I liked it so much, I immediately pulled the trigger for the M2 version.

Highly recommend for a clean, factory looking phone mount.

I wonder if this would introduce new rattles/squeaks over time as time goes on

Doubt it. I have the KUDA mount screwed in that area. Squeaks would be from something else lol, that area is pretty solid.

I experienced no extra rattles or squeaks when it was on my F80. Install is solid.

With CarPlay, as an iPhone user, I have been wondering what functions are being still used directly on the phone? This looks awesome and it seems pricy compared to Amazon products. Is this high quality?

Picking up my CS at the PDC and will have to drive 750 miles, this may do the trick.

For the stupid people in the room, will the adhesive steel plate that you put on the back of the phone (behind the case) mess with inductive charging on an iPhone (say an iPhone Xr)?

i.e. if you have the metal plate on your the back of the phone- does it kill wireless charging?

TIA--

R.

I've got an ultra-thin case on my iPhone that I don't want to give up-- do you stick a magnet on the back of the case? On the back of the phone? Are there restrictions on what case (if any) you can use?

TIA--

R.
Just stick the metal plate in back back directly on the case or since you say the case is thin, you can have the metal plate behind the case. It'll still work.

There are cases designed specifically for this issue!

I bought this carbon-looking one. It's been wonderful.

Thanks-- ordered today. If my case doesn't work well, I'll shift to a magnetic case like the above.

I wish I would have seen this. I just installed a proclip setup today that snaps onto the vent area. It uses the same ball mount so I used my quick release wireless charger there, you could do the same with this. I've used the magnetic mounts in the past but they mess with charging and it's too easy to send the phone flying

With the magnetic case I posted above, I didn't have any issues with wireless charging, or the phone flying off during spirited canyon runs.

How hard was the install? Looks like the video on the Rennline website is for an older gen M2? Any chance you have a video of the install? Thanks!

It was fairly easy. Took about 5 minutes. Install is basically the same as the video. Remove trim, remove torx screws, stuck the bracket in, reassemble.

Thanks, did the vent trim piece just pull off? Did you have to use a trim tool? Appreciate the help!
