Running in service at 950 miles okay?

Its booked for tomorrow. Will be just under 950 - will it void my warranty?

Cheers

It's fine.

But it'll be more fine if you pull an all-nighter to get coffee at a gas station 125 miles away for absolutely no reason other than you watched Dazed and Confused recently and miss the good ol days. Oh, to be 20 and careless again. lol.

You'll be fine or do what Anthony says. But, for the record, no one does it better than me

I didn't quite hit 1200 miles either. Maybe just over 1000 when I did it I think?

Nobody said anything about voiding the warranty, i'm sure you'll be fine.

It wont void your warranty for sure but when BMW says 1200 miles you should get break in service close to 1200 , 950 is too early. Drive it for another 200 miles

I think I got my 2015 M5 done at 1000 miles. But I was headed to a 1500 mile round trip and needed it done beforehand.

I did my break-in service around that mileage. I spoke with the BMW corporate tech and he laughs when people get very specific on the break-in numbers. He said he has seen people bring it in at the 2000 mile mark and still no issues. Basically saying modern BMW engines are not affected and precisely when you have to bring it in.

No owners manual says 1200 miles as per US cars

Test out launch control, to make sure they activated it for you. You don't have to actually launch if you don't wanna. Just enable it so you know it's there.

Per owners manual.
Find the nearest freeway onramp, now put the car in reverse and hammer it.

In all seriousness, I was probably still a little cautious with it after the break in service because it was my "baby".

I got the car about 13 or 14 months ago, I have 16,000 miles in it, and I drive it hard as much as possible. It's too fun not to! So far, so good...

Go have some fun with it.

It pulled much harder since my foot got much heavier all of a sudden.

No. I didn't notice any difference after break in. And you'll get all sorts of opinions regarding if it's even necessary to break it in. I did it just to be safe.

No. I think its our comfort and familiarity with the car, that makes it feel better and faster over time.

You can chase the redline. And also, don't shy away from the wet roads. The M2 loves to play, and it's the perfect time to get to learn how to slide out the back end and control the car. Just be careful and do it when no cars are around of course.
