Hi all,

Build thread for my new M2.
Picked up a 2017 M2 6 weeks ago with just under 7000klm's on it.
It was completely stock & unbelievably still had the new car smell.
In the 6 weeks since, I've pretty much got it to where I'm reasonably happy although far from finished, (could lose some kg's too, like the owner!).
It replaces my AMG A45 as my daily driver & joins our new Audi SQ2, plus I still have my Megane RS275 Trophy-R track car.

*Initial mods so far with pics below....

666M 20" wheels & Michelein PS4S tyres
H&R sports springs
Acexon rear reflector inserts
Black M2 badge
Painted engine cover & fuse cover
M2 custom floor mats
M alloy pedal kit - now replaced
M V2 alcantara/leather steering wheel
M Carbon fibre steering wheel insert
Autotec Carbon fibre paddle shifters - now replaced
M Carbon fibre dct shift knob
M Carbon fibre handbrake
M Carbon fibre/alcantara shift surround
Gloss black grills
Roof wrapped gloss black
Autotechnic Carbon fibre shark fin
Autotechnic Carbon fibre mirror caps
Autotechnic Carbon fibre diffuser
Vorsteiner Carbon fibre rear spoiler - now replaced
AutoTechnic Carbon fibre front lip
Autotechnic Carbon fibre side skirts
Autotechnic Carbon fibre guard vents
————————————————————

*Update #2 with new mods & pics...

Wagner 200cel downpipe
Wagner evo2 intercooler
BMS charge pipes
AFE air filter
KCD front & rear black alloy braces
HEL braided brake lines & Hi temp fluid
Blue start button
Blue M steering wheel buttons
Windscreen tinted sunstrip
Akrapovic exhaust tips
Alloy blue fuel cap
BMW puddle lights
Faux carbon #plate surrounds
Reverse sensor console switch
Rubber console tray insert
————————————————————

*Update #3 with more mods & pics...

BM3 stage 2 tune
Turner Carbon fibre high kick rear spoiler
BMS black alloy oil filter housing
Pedal Haus black alloy pedal kit
3D Design black alloy paddle shifters
Fire Extinguisher
Red brake calipers
F30 auto brake pedal assy

————————————————————

Here's the latest pics...

Thanks for the warm welcome.
A few pics of my A45 that the M2 just replaced (I understand if the feedback's not quite so positive haha).

Miss anything from the A45 compared to the M2?

Good stuff with the mods too. Plenty done in 6 weeks!

The interior was a little better in the AMG, good seats, leather dash, a brake pedal in the correct location etc. The exhaust sound was maybe better on the AMG too although I had Renntech mods on mine. The AWD had both benefits & flaws. From my experience so far the M2 is a much better drivers car & the AMG is a better all rounder. Both great cars.

It's too small & too close to the throttle pedal for a 2 pedal car for my liking. No doubt there is some reason behind why BMW use the manual brake pedal in these cars however this is the 5th DCT equipped car we've had (Mercedes, VW, Renault, Audi) & they've always been fitted with an auto pedal box. Looking into a 2 series auto brake pedal assy & will see if I can adapt that similar to what BMW have in the R 2 series.

Hi all,

Update #2 with new mods & updated pics.

Performance updates:
Wagner hi-flow downpipe, Wagner evo2 intercooler, BMS charge pipes & AFE filter has had the effect of much improved top end power at the expense of some low end torque. Much more linear power delivery & better noise now too.
KCD front & rear black aluminium braces, very oem looking.
HEL braided brake lines & Hi temp fluid.

Interior updates:
Blue start button & Blue M1/M2 steering wheel buttons which I intend to use as exhaust valve switches.
Oem Reverse sensor console switch.
Oem Rubber inner console tray insert fitted in place of wireless charger tray.

Exterior updates:
Windscreen tint sunstrip.
Faux carbon #plate surrounds.
Akrapovic carbon tips.
Alloy blue fuel cap.
BMW puddle lights.

Custom Fire extinguisher.
Fitted F30 auto brake pedal assembly, left foot brake friendly now.

Exterior updates:
Replaced Vorsteiner Carbon rear spoiler with Turner 'high kick' carbon spoiler, looks amazing.
Fitted Aluminium GTS vented bonnet, looks great, light weight & functional addition.
Painted brake calipers red.
