a) Tongue in cheek sarcasm at those here who have posted similar sentiments without having any real track/racing experience b) Your honest opinion, most likely posted without reading about who the driver is and how common it is for professional race drivers to sit like that So, which is it? I think more drivers should learn about how to adjust the seat and steering wheel for better car control while tracking or high performance driving. Last edited by Boss330; 04-17-2016 at 11:49 AM.. |

Did a track training course the other day in a few ferrari's and all the coach's told me to sit closer the steering wheel which at first was really weird but after a while I felt like I had a better feel of the car. Looked and felt like i was sitting on the steering wheel.

I'm not posting to detract from any 'seasoned' track rats, but I always get a kick out of all of the 'pros' that appear when it comes to critiquing someone else's driving.

Especially the folks saying he's a bad driver... I'd LOVE to see any one of them pull a 1:12 in the car. I would bet not one person in this discussion could do it (well, I suppose it's possible someone here could but it would be the absolute exception).

The new M2 seems good on a smaller track but on a track like the Nurburgring the numbers are not all that great (sort of like the 1/4 mile traps speed numbers). This reminds me of the WRX STI. Those 1/4 mile trap speeds I saw before of 107/108 MPH seem a bit way too low for me. 118-120 would be nice.

As far as the " not all that great " Nurburgring time , there are also rumors of an S55 powered 2 series chassis ( some like to call it.. CS .) that has lapped the Nurburgring faster than an M4.. if high top speed and drag strip times are important to you then absolutely the M4 is what you want. |

True, but unless you live in Europe and track the nurburgring, would say that most tracks in the US are 3.5 miles or less. The M2 would favor most US tracks....smaller, more nimble, and smooth power usually wins the game, especially in amateur hands. Will be interesting to see more US track tests come out, including some longer ones like VIR.

As for the 1/4 mile times, the 107/108 time is indeed strange. While I don't think you will see repeatable numbers of 114/115, I think it will settle nicely around 110/111. |

If we had a member at the track with said driver and totally killed his time, then great, but that's way far from the case in 99.87324% of these thread debates. I believe M3Adjuster is an instructor, isn't he? I'd wager his thoughts would be a little more valid than others, but hey, we're clearly not short on 'pro' drivers on this forum.

Non legitimate lap time
Why am I hearing the squeal of non-OEM track pads? If that's the case this time is not a legitimate time for what is supposedly an OEM car.
