I had planned on taking out the charcoal filters and putting in K&N filters this weekend after the break in service. It has to be the same as the m3/4, anyway this could affect my warranty? Anyone out there have experience with it, is it worth it?

Congrats!
Is this a pre-production model or an actual US spec model? My dealer told me the pre-production models are being delivered this week. Would love to see pictures of interior (specifically rear seats and digital cluster details) |

Sounds like you are really liking the M2C - I think you will like it more and more as you get used to the BMW approach so to speak. Definitely a different animal compared to either your Suby or the S2000, but fun to compare regardless.
Hopefully there are some winding mountain roads to be carved up in the near future!

I still have the s2000, if I really get the itch to jump in a manual and hit the mountains the s2000 is awesome for that. IMO one of the best manual gearboxes out there.

Is there anyway I can tell what order mine was produced in? I feel like it has to be a pretty early car. I picked it up Aug 3rd, but could have picked it up 31Jul2018. My vin ends in 08907.

It'll be a customer car. Pre production are used for press reviews and testing and wouldn't get into customer hands.

Very early costumer car, maybe first. There is a press car with vin ending in 08906, one before yours.

Looks like your vehicle finished production on or about 6/21/2018. Think you’re one of the first (if not the first) US customer car produced.

As you said, you cant really compare the two cars, very different but both awesome and the M2 feels lighter than it is. The M2 is an easier manual to drive in traffic compared to the S2000 imo. Maybe that's bc the M2 is new and the S2k is 10 years old with 70k+ miles and still on the original clutch? Congrats on the new ride! |

I would say its due to creep mode in the M2 makes driving in traffic easy, use it all the time. Let out the clutch, no gas and the car pulls forward

Congrats and welcome to the club!
Must be a crazy difference going from the S2K to the M2C. I at least had a 135 in between. Think you will really be able to really appreciate the differences once you get it out on the twisties. The S2K is a beast there, but you will find the M2 to be a beast devouring monster. The power and torque matched to nearly identical tossability will be a pleasant surprise for you. Enjoy! |
