Strange audio issue
Hi everyone,
I have a strange issue with the audio since a couple of days, went to work on thursday, no problems at all, everything worked fine. When I went back home, I started the car and noticed that I didn't have audio anymore. No radio, PDC or seatbelt chimes. Pushed every button I could think off and checked the settings but couldn't fix it. When I was back home I tried my secondary key and everything worked, changed back to the primary and also with that key the problem was gone. Fast forward to friday, same problem and same solution. Any thoughts? Anyone else experience this? |

Quick statusupdate, the solution with the reserve key no longer works.
At this moment I no longer have sound/audio. I had contact with the BMW dealer and they also have no idea at the moment. Do you guys have any idea what could be wrong? I read some threads about broken amplifiers but from what I read this is often accompanied by a lot of static and crackles coming from the speakers and I don't have that problem. |

I’ve never heard about this, but I sure am curious about root cause! Please let us know what you find out.

weren't people have issues after getting the windows tinted if water ran down the window into the speakers? so did you just have your windows tinted by any chance?

After many trips to the dealer for investigations that helped nothing, the audio problem has finally been fixed. The solution...the amplifier has been replaced.

Pretty much every single audio problem with F2x and F8x is traced back to the amplifier. If you are a tinkerer I would take your replacement amplifier, open it up, and spray conformal coating on the PCB, especially at the pins of the amplifier ICs. In another section here one member had taken it apart and demonstrated the moisture / corrosion problem that kills them.
