Obviously. If you are anything over 6 feet and plan to track the car (with helmet), get the slicktop.

From non-comp F87s I have been in, I feel like if you are under 6'2" you should have no problem with the moonroof.

I have a 235i with moonroof. I went back and forth about optioning one for the M2C. Assuming the seats are not higher in the M2C, I'll be ok at 6'1" with a helmet with a moonroof. It's really the side bar that you end up hitting, not above you.

I have a sunroof in my M240I and I have one in my M2C I just got. I'm a tad over 6'2 and still feel like I have plenty of space with the seat all the way down. Feel like I may even have a bit more space in the M2C, maybe the seats slightly thinner? If your that height and wearing a helmet though your probably at the limit or cutting it extremely close as I probably have like ~2 inches or so of headroom.

I was taught to sit high for better road vision. It seems most people want to sit as low as possible.

Yes, it's hugely noticeable. The number I recall is 1.7" of less headroom (but I can't recall if that is on the E90 or F87 although it should be similar). In my E90 M3 slicktop with a helmet on I just barely have room above (seat all the way down). In the M2C with a helmet on I do have a tad more room with the seat all the way down; perhaps two finger widths above my helmet. (I'm 6'2" and a bit plus longer in torso). I'd would have loved to get the E91 with a slicktop too, but BMW didn't allow them to be imported (the majority of E91s in Europe are slicktops) since in that car it not only impacts front seat headroom but it also impacts rear seat headroom -- I can't even sit in the rear seat of the E91 without tilting my head to the side (no helmet).

I had the moonroof in my M235i and had plenty of headroom with a helmet. One thing to note is that different helmets sit higher on your head than others. I have a full-face motorcycle helmet (SNELL M2015) and an open-face auto helmet (SNELL SA2015). The motorcycle helmet sits higher. I used the motorcycle helmet in the M235i with moonroof with no headroom issues.
My Camaro had no sunroof, and had less headroom than the M235i with the moonroof - but I was still able to wear either helmet in the Camaro with clearance. If the moonroof was a free option in the M2C as it was in the M235i, I would have taken it for the extra light in lets in the cabin. I have a panoramic moonroof in my 2015 MINI and never open it, but I do like the extra light in the cabin and always have the shade open.

I did. Tt was one of my reasons for deciding to order modify to sunroof. My local dealer got an M2C in on trade (guy bought a CS ) and I went for a test drive and brought my helmet to see if I could fit for how I would position the seat.
