Carbon Fiber Manufacturers of Choice

I posted this in the "Cosmetic Modifications" section and got ZERO replies in two weeks. So I'm trying here in the open forum.

I am looking at installing a carbon fiber "CS" style front splitter and rear "CS" style decklid spoiler on my M2C. Several manufacturers offer these and there are some threads about them here and elsewhere. It seems as though everyone, no matter how careful, seems to scrape the front splitter or damage it in some way. I am pretty careful, but you never know. I cannot see spending the money on a BMW Original Equipment splitter if I might end up needing to replace it in a couple years anyway, especially when some of these pretty darn nice and are less than half the price!!

So my question is, for those who have bought the below brands, or know way more about them than I do, which of these are the best bang for your buck?
Which ones need to just be avoided at all cost?
Does there seem to be a selection that is more popular than the others?

Here is what I have found, if I missed any, please fill in the blank.

RW Carbon - Front Splitter $790.00......Rear Spoiler $280.00

TRE - Front Splitter $671.00......Rear Spoiler $247.00

CT Carbon - Front Splitter $546.00.....Rear Spoiler $205.00

Essentials - Front Splitter $433.00.....Rear Spoiler $175.00

I have the Auto ID mirrors and rear spoiler. The quality has been good, carbon is showing a tiny bit of wear but I also don't coat it as often as I should. Its also not the "TRE" which is of higher quality supposedly. Fitment was great! I would definitely buy again

What's recommended for coating it?

I have the RW Carbon rear diffuser, the quality and fitment are pretty good, not much different to OEM from my experience.

I bought AutoTecknic rear spoiler and side scuttles and the quality/fitment was not as good, definitely NOT recommended. The rear spoiler the fitment is not 100%, also when the sun hits at different angles you can see the top part is not really smooth, like the clear coat is not perfect. Also one of the side scuttles flew away after installing them, and I contacted them to tell them their fitment is no good and that I wanted to buy the replacement for only one side (not sold individually on their site) and they wouldn't help me buy a single side replacement, only pairs. Horrible customer service, so I will never spend another dollar on their products.

I don't have experience with the other brands that you mentioned.

For your info I have the original M performance parts that came with the car (front lip, kidney grills, mirrors, and side winglets) and I'm comparing the above to them.

Had the AA Concepts front lip and mirrors. Fitmet was great. Recently hit a semi tire on the highway and the lip was destroyed :/

I bought the turner Motorsport duck bill when it came out and within a few months the clear became clouded beyond repair.
Fitment was good. Liked the different look they offered but coming off now.
Apparently some euro guys told me turner was sold to esc tuning and they “cheapened” some of the quality in some products.

Just ordered a new Suvneer front lip and side skirts. Will update once they come in.

Just typical waxes and sealants, anything you'd apply to your car normally.

I have the Dinan rear spoiler and there is absolutely no noticeable differences between that one and OEM. I wouldn't hesitate to put any of their other carbon parts on.

I have the RW Carbon CS clone. It’s a replica of the BMW part. You could even use the $700 factory install kit if so desired. Fit and finish are great.

Bump. Curious on opinions here as well.

@GjXray - do you have any photos of the lip not installed? You mention it could be installed with factory hardware so just curious on the mounting structure. Not drilling the bumper to match a replica is ideal.

CS Spoiler Purchased.....

As an update. I was able to find an actual BMW M2CS rear decklid spoiler from a member of this group. He bought it but never installed it on his car. He went with an actual wing instead. It was more than I had budgeted for, but for an Original Equipment BMW spoiler the extra $$ is worth it. I think the fit and finish is superior to many of the aftermarket choices.

Now I just need to find a front CS style spoiler. I see several I like and would buy them now but they seem to be out of stock currently. The RW Carbon unit is nice, and in stock, but for $836.68 shipped, I will continue looking. (I did get a popup discount code "TAX" which reduced the price from $790 to $735, but the shipping estimate tool is not working). The numerous comments that any spoiler will be scuffed and damaged, no matter what, has changed my thinking. No need to stick a $1200+ spoiler on the front to get beat up when a $400-$600 will get the job done.

ALL of the CT Carbon spoilers for the F8's are Out of stock.

The TRE CS Spoiler from AUTOID is $457 but the shipping is $174 !!!! Total is $631.60. Not terrible overall, but being frugal, that shipping is outrageous.

I will figure something out in the near future as the weather is getting nicer out, the snow is gone, and I just need a couple good rains to wash the streets off of gravel and salt brine. Would be nice to start the driving season with both the front spoiler and rear deck lid spoiler installed.

I appreciate all the feedback....

Well, in a sense I took your advice and went with a used, but never installed, BMW OE rear CS spoiler, as I mentioned above.

I see you are a member of the M Chapter! I am actually the Regional VP for all of the Non-Geographic Chapters, and the Central Region of the BMWCCA and serve on the National Board with Larry Engel. We will be in your area, well Providence, RI, for Oktoberfest this Fall. Would love to meet you, and others, in person.

I only use OEM MSport CF parts on my M2C and wouldn't have it any other way, I have the full set except the front fender emblems. Which reminds me I'll order a set.

A Gloss Black Alternative

As I was digging around, i came across this Gloss Black Polycarbonate front CS Style spoiler sold on SuperAutoUSA.com I pasted the link below. I'm a bit intrigued as it is Gloss black so matches the grill, the front lower mesh grills as well as the shadowline trim all over the car. Having a delivered price below $300 is of interest since everyone agrees these front bumper spoilers will invariably get bashed at some point. A guy could replace this one a few times and still not hit the price of a single OE CF unit.

So it begs the question, I wonder what the quality and fit is like with one of these? Would it be worth ordering one and if it isn't a quality piece, just sending it back?

i've tried oem, autotecknik, rkp. had a mix of those on my last f80.

oem is best. the fitment is perfect. the weave is perfect. they don't fade. there isnt orange peel in the overlying clearcoat.

the other brands can get you 8-9 / 10ths for 50-60% of the price though if you want a deal or aren't picky. i'm picky though. plus i do feel oem m performance helps resale value while rep stuff doesn't.

I went with RW Carbon

So I just ordered the BMW F87 M2 Comp CS Style CF Front Lip directly from the RW Carbon website. They are located in California and due to some delivery issues, the lip won't arrive until the First or Second week of May, 2023.
The Pricing on their website shows $789.00 before shipping. I mentioned that I used their promo code of "TAX" last week and the price went to $734.00 but it had expired. They applied the discount and added the shipping of $45.00 so the total ($779.00 shipped) was less than the original price on the website.

I ended up spending a bit more but the close-up photo above from GjXray sealed the deal, so Thanks!!!! The fit and finish looked nicer than others I had seen in person and looked more like the actual CS spoiler.
I will wrap it with some PPF before installation but know at some point it will get scuffed on the bottom. Might order a Sliplo kit or something similar.

I am anxious to see what hardware or double sided tape it comes with to mount it to the bumper. As much as I love the tape and self tapping screws, I think I will look at installing some 1/4" black plastic plates inside the bumper for added stiffness and to have something to install some threaded nutserts onto. I trust the combination of real screws and nuts as well as the 3M VHB Double Sided Tape to keep things from coming off.

Will post pictures when it arrives, during and after install. Thanks again for all the input everyone.
