And again you were in a Home Depot parking lot and got hit by a runaway cart that they own. They have insurance for this type of situation.

I'm taking to my preferred shop that specializes in euro & sports cars... We'll see what they say about that being on the fold. I'm not a paint/body person but that seems almost unrealistic to get perfect. But I'm also 100% aware of the parts issue.

Yes, I have a claim in with them and awaiting to hear back. Maddeningly, during our convo about it, the store manager voluntarily told me, "this happens pretty much every day".

And I would have been like "then you should know what to do pretty quickly"

well, it dumps into a national office. I have little faith anything will really come from it. But even if I can get them to just cover the deductible, that would be a win.

Happy to report the car is finally repaired.

It took a month in the shop (they were backed up and there was some fumbling of paperwork between them and my insurance) but in talking to the PDR guy his report was interesting.

He said the lower vertical dent was "way harder" than the main upper giant dent. The reason was accessing the lower one with the tools. They took out the glass and accessed the area from there (vs, cutting a hole in the door frame) and reaching down that far was high on the difficulty scale.

The skirt was replaced with a new part and everything painted and blended.

Car looks great and they replaced the OEM PPF on both sides so they would match.

Looks great! Glad they could fix it up like new with minimal invasive repairs.

I had little faith in that being repairable via PDR but they did a great job!

I continue to be amazed at the magic/art of good PDR experts. When I saw your damage right on that crease, I thought there was no way that was getting repaired without a new panel.

It's stuff like this that I try to memory bank so that when damage inevitably occurs, I remain calm because these days, anything can seemingly be fixed to "like new" condition by the right person with the correct tools.

Congrats man!

There are some absolute magicians out there. I have a guy near me who has repaired some truly mind blowing dents. Once you find a good PDR guy, don't let them go.

Sucks man. Had the exact thing happen in HD parking lot year's ago with E46. Fought with HD about their lot policies and cart collections. They will not be "held responsible" for others ignorance. Got me nowhere.
Lowe's is my go to ever since.
Glad she's whole again.

ugh I had to park super far away in the lot yesterday because there were over 10 carts just sitting at random places. I usually go and collect carts but there were just way too many
