Well, almost. LCI cluster has a plain font for the numbers - typical traditional BMW, looks great. M2c got a "new" font that is now commonly used. But functionally they are identical.
New cluster fixes glare issues

That's the main benefit

Cool about the font

I'm in Michigan. And that car is gone, and turns out I can not buy in California, as it's the only state that wants buyer to pay full CA sales tax if one wants to drive the car off the lot... Even for out of state buyers. And CA tax is much bigger than MI. 10.5% vs 6% for a few I checked in the bay area

So my plan of driving it back cross country kinda went kaput. At least not from CA

Avis has BMWs in most European countries. I drove 2 series convertible in Italy couple of times, and just had 7 series (upgraded from 5 series) in Spain a month ago. Nice car but way too big. Especially if you have to drive through historical centers in Spain. I once had to backup for half a mile a narrow cobblestone street in Cordoba, because GPS made a trip to a hotel through the street that was too narrow for 7 series. Thank God for a good backup camera and surround view.

What about 2019 M2? Is there a proven way to make it sound better?

For clarity.. here's the 2018, 1-yr-only cluster on the OG LCI:

And here's the M2c / M2cs cluster:

$$$

And the truth after 25 or so track days my approx. $6k Eisenmann Exhaust had to be welded back together.

And the MPerformance exhaust on my M4 had to be replaced after about 3k track miles.
So if you are planning to really beat on the car I would forget about exhaust sound.

No, I'm not planning to track the car. Just a daily driver shared with my other car...
Every single review mentions the weak sound of M2C - so I was hoping the remedy was worked out

The F series M3/4 have the same sound problem. No real good solution.

Plus the M2C has the large utter in the back.

Working on paperwork for this beauty. 2019 with 9K miles. A bit more money but, car is almost new! Thank you all.

Still never driven the car, will be flying to pick it up.

I was in the same place. The problem was finding an 18 with low mileage. And the price. Lots of 17s around and even some low mileage ones looked worn. I think it’s a win either way. I would only go with the m2c if you could get a good price. I so far have seen about 6-15 k more of them even with more miles. I figure the difference could be used to tune the car to a m2c power match for cheap. The n55 is a great engine. I kinda wish the m2 had the b58 engine.

OMG!!! I was thinking the same thing!! I have the B58 in my 340i and that thing is a beast just waiting to be unleashed. But the nice thing about the N55 motor is it is SOOOOO linear that there are no surprises and it's very predictable which makes the car so much fun to drive. You know exactly what it's going to do.

I have seen a few videos and articles where they compared the OG M2 to the M2C and they've said the same thing. The M2C rides better, is more comfortable and much more headroom for power, but the OG M2 feels more connected and "Raw" (not to mention the sound).

My budget is what is limiting me, but I think even if it wasn't, I would still be looking at the OG M2, just find a low mileage/pristine 2018. But the one I'm hoping to pick up in the next couple of days is a great deal for the money and low miles considering it's a '16. So fingers crossed that the deal doesn't fall though today since today I will know for sure...

I was right up there with you guys until just recently. Wanted a m2c, but in my area they are all consistently $10k+ more than the OG, and with more mileage. I ended my search with a pristine condition '18 LBB OG with 15k miles for $50k. In the distant future I'm sure I'll wish I had the S55 engine for it's tuning potential, but for now I'm more than happy with the N55's sound and power.

Looks great. You'll be much happier buying the M2C over the OG M2.

I laugh every time I read people saying the OG is 'better' for daily driving. The only ones who will ever say this are those trying to justify their purchase of the lesser car. Having driven both back to back many times, it's always extremely apparent. OG will always leave something to be desired. It's like the WRX vs. STi debate. No one with an STi is going to say the WRX is better, but WRX owners will always try to justify their purchase like it is.

The M2C is vastly improved in near every way. Doesn't matter if you're tracking it or not. Interior is nicer, handles better, much faster, more potential, etc. Sound can be fixed with an EL midpipe or any full exhaust.

Why did your M exhaust need to be replaced?

Was it just wear and tear? Not robust enough?

That's what I had to guess from watching a million reviews...

I wish I didn't have to spend more money on 60K car right away, but it looks like I will have to. I can't stand a ~400hp car sounding like corolla

You can just get an EL midpipe and keep the rest stock, will sound great. But I know the feeling..

As I'm doing some leisure trip with new car, I plan to stop at ActiveAutowerke in Miami and see what can be done with EL and whats not. Real coincidence my trip plan was right through that area!

Honestly same thing could be said for Comp owners trying to justify spending an extra 20k on a track ready car they never end up tracking. Can't go wrong with either one, the OG is plenty for street and canyon driving, will be cheaper to own and maintain in the long run, and weighs less. I don't regret my purchase at all.

Difference for me on the used market was $6-9k at the time. S55 alone is worth that difference.

Yikes. I'd much rather an E9X M3 than pay the prices these cars are going for right now. More than $45k on an M2 or M2C is more than the car is worth.
