That's part of the reason I ended up going with a Remus system, the stock exhaust works very well (a bit too well for me).
Thanks for your thoughts on it.

One more thing.

Earlier in this thread you describe a sound, it's a long braaap when you let off the gas, then a backfire.

First, forgive me, but I hate that braaap sound, and wish it was gone from even the stock exhaust. Have you ever heard an M2 exhaust or tune without it? Does it have a name or a purpose?

Secondly, the backfire. What do you suppose causes that? I'm all for pops and cackles, but backfiring not so much.

In my experience the backfire only happens if you let off the accelerator between 4-5k rpm in sport and sport plus. No idea what causes it, it's just a natural side effect of the stock tuning. Fuel overrun on decell I suppose. I think bm3 has a way to turn the burbles up and down but I'm not tuned so my knowledge on the subject is limited. If you want fewer pops and bangs skip the res delete and just do the sport cat by itself.

Thanks for the info.

I WANT the pops and bangs, just not the long fart noise that happens when you abruptly let off the gas (even stock).

I think that's more of a DME issue. A tune might change that noise but just messing with the exhaust by itself probably won't.

How much extra volume does the res delete give? Does it change the tone much? I already have the Fabspeed DP and tossing up between Remus and the res delete.

It's not so much volume it's more sound. It adds some throatiness and makes the snaps and pops more audible. I would suggest trying the res delete first since it's way cheaper. If you aren't happy you can always go Remus after.

On your recommendation I picked up the Dinan resonator delete and will be installing it with the Fabspeed sport cat as soon as I can find one for sale. I'm thinking my exhaust will be done at that point.

It's a great set up, If the M2 was my daily that's how I would've left it. Seeing as it's more of a special occasion car for me I deemed it necessary to find something a little more dramatic.

I totally get that, I did it with my Exige. The M2 is my daily, but I drive like 2.6 miles to work and back, so a bit louder will be ok.

From the sounds I've heard, and what I like, I'm really thinking the Dinan exhaust, but the fitment issues have me second guessing that. Maybe the resonator delete + sport cat will satisfy me.

The resonator delete will give you a small amount. The sport cat will give you a big amount. Both combined will give you a ton. Pair it will with valve controller and you've got gunshots on demand.

Yes, it's very subtle but in a classy way. Definitely not for those that like noise, haha.
