Making M Performance Exhaust Louder

Mine is quieter now then when I first got on my 18 M2, thought it would be the opposite...Without a downpipe anyway to make it louder?

Are your valves operating correctly? Maybe the valves are not opening.

To "open up" a stock exhaust it needs to heat up. This can be accomplished by 1. long drives (hours) 2. autocross 3. HPDE

Might want to repost in the N55 section. You'll probably get some more meaningful feedback there. The M performance exhaust for the S55 doesn't have the same bluetooth controller and is controlled by the drive modes instead.

If you bought an exhaust without first getting an aftermarket catted or catless down-pipe you probably wasted your money.

No problem but this is S55 engine section.

That's why i asked, you have a N55 motor, completely different.

EU with OPF refers to EU model with petrol particulate filters, something very important for S55 owners wanting more noise, not relevant for older N55.

I also have a 2018 M2 with MPE. I will suggest that it seems to have gotten a bit quieter with some miles on it (currently around 5000). It does seem to open up and get louder when on the track and I'm really using the throttle and running up the RPMs. Rarely do I ever use WOT on the street and even rarer do I bother going over 4K RPM. Those are the two conditions under which MPE really sings.

WOT: Wide Open Throttle.

Woh, each to their own, but the S55 doesn't really wake up till about 5krpm.

Below 4 is really just lugging around, coasting / cruising.

I also don't use WOT too often, but running up to 6-7k pretty often is a nice place to be for driver and engine.

Yeah, I shouldn't have written "rarely do I bother" and instead should have said something like: in any gear other than 1st, going over 5K RPM is breaking the speed limit other than on the Interstate, so rarely do I get the opportunity to enjoy the melodious sounds of the MPE around town on the street.
