One of my friends has Race with stock mid and I wouldn't definitely say it's too loud. I probably would still choose Sport over Race even when pairing with the stock mid but it's mainly because of the tone not volume. I can also see some people finding Sport+stock mid combo to be too quiet. I had that combo for a couple months it's only slightly louder than stock with valves open. Sweet spot for me is the Sport with AA midpipe.

Good info, I ordered the Sport exhaust mainly due to the deeper tone mentioned and not wanting something overly loud. You mentioned in other posts that you couldn’t hear the stock exhaust from inside the cabin. With the Sport exhaust and stock midpipe, was there any additional cabin noise over the stock exhaust? I’d like a bit more exhaust noise inside the cabin, but I don’t want it too loud which is why I didn’t order the Race, but you mentioned Sport with Stock mids was only slightly louder than stock so now I'm wondering if I should’ve ordered the Race version.

I could definitely hear it inside the cabin with valves open. Sport is somewhere in between the stock and Race in terms of volume. It's hard to describe it because everyone's taste and tolerance is different. Hearing it in person is the best route before ordering but since nobody had it when I was ordering mine, I had to go thru 3 iterations. If AA midpipe hadn't existed, I would have been still pretty happy with Sport and stock midpipe combo.

Howdy @cntzl, figured I’d join in on this thread

Has anyone tried the silencer delete tubes? Any sense in considering them?

Later, if I want to go with a stage 1 off the shelf type tune, assume would be good to go with the AA Mid/Remus Sport Axleback? Can always custom tune obviously but just curious.

Congrats on the exhaust! You can run stage 1 OTS map with any exhaust. For stage 2, catless downpipes are recommended.

Appreciate the write-up - sorry if I missed this, but could you comment on what specifically drove your decision to go with the AA midpipe vs. stock?

There is absolutely no rasp with Remus Sport + AA midpipe and its volume is just perfect for me with valves open. AA mid sounds much deeper than stock mid and has a nice bump in volume as well.

Just out if curiosity (and a little OT, sorry), what is everyone doing with their stock exhaust after these mods? Is there a market for the stock exhaust?

Just keeping it in storage. I'll put my stock exhaust back on when I'm about to sell the car. These mods add almost nothing to the resale value so it's usually better to part out and sell them separately.

Not sure yet, but I’ll need to decide soon. We don’t have enough extra storage to have the stocker laying around. But would be a waste to just give it away. Suppose at some point, someone will want to switch back to stock to sell, and having gotten rid of the stock exhaust, be willing to pick one up for cheap..

In Europe we have the very restrictive OPFs, so the volume increase with the AA midpipe is higher for us

I’m dying to get this setup, but still can’t bring myself to pay $1,000 for the carbon tips alone.
