You need to buy both if you want the CF piece or just use the stock piece again.
Don't you need the back cover as well? Or can we just use the stock one?

You can use all the stock pieces, front and back, if you want.

Technically you don't need the CF cover, you can use the cover from the original wheel.

Yup, and by the way, does the cover also fit the electronic steering wheel as well? Anyone have the part# for the glossy carbon finish?

M performance steering wheel (non-electronic) is available from getbmwparts.com (aka Tischer BMW) who is a forum sponsor here. $795 for the wheel and carbon trim, free shipping, and they have a summer promo currently going on ($25 off $500+, or $50 off if you get to $1000+). Ordered mine already!

https://getbmwparts.com/partlocator/...gid=4462&tab=1

EDIT: Just got an e-mail saying that they didn't realize the carbon trim piece was sold separately. Now the wheel ($745) and the trim piece ($295) are listed separately.

Hi guys,

Bit of an issue, my father had the MP wheel (without race display) installed in his M2 by his local BMW dealer, however upon starting the car, he is getting a "Cruise Control Failure" warning up on the iDrive. This doesn't happen every time, but happens frequently. However, the cruise control still functions like normal, there is no problems at all besides an incorrect error message.

Currently the stock wheel has been refitted and there is no error (as you'd expect). The dealer has tried changing the SNL and also the cruise control buttons but that's not solved the issue. What could be causing this? The stock wheel is a heated steering wheel, and I had noticed that attached to the wheel wiring was a little black connector box with two extra wires (see http://image.prntscr.com/image/15c28...391288d357.png). This was not fitted when the MP wheel was installed. Should this be installed with the MP wheel?

Any help is appreciated!

Any idea if the M3's M-perf wheel with race display can be fitted on the M2 manual tranny?

I'll be swapping the CF cover of the M3's M-perf wheel for the M2's plastic cover.

Can't answer definitively, but I have an M4 race display wheel on my M2, DCT tho. I can't imagine manual would make any difference.
