End of story...

Two people that miss details.

An all wheel drive vehicle that can send up to 60 percent of power available to the rear..

Front wheel drive - not in that sentence at all

It might be An FWD chassis , but clearly not an FWD Vehicle
It'll also split TQ 50/50 when ESP is in sport or off completely. FWD until it detects slippage is only the case in C mode with ESP on. Seems to work pretty well in my opinion.

Since you have a CLA45, do you think the new 2016 CLA45 will be able to drift with the more power and new LSD like Chris is doing with that A45? or is this just a hatchback thing?

What do they say about imitation and flattery? BBS invented the design, not BMW. BMW just copied it about 25 years ago.

He was able to drift a 2014 CLA45 as well. The car definitely doesn't enjoy doing it!

I believe BMW's wheels with that design are made by BBS.

Yes, BMW used some BBS wheels, which is a far cry from saying AMG copied BMW. That BBS design was a very common aftermarket/tuner design in the 80s. Many manufacturers utilized that design, including Lotus for its Esprit, etc.

Serves me right for not watching the vid.

When I was in the market back in late 2013/early 2014, in its first year of production, the CLA 45 was indeed advertised (relying here on memory) as a 100% front wheel drivetrain (normal driving circumstances) that could send up to 50% to the rear wheels as needed. Kudos to AMG for rectifying this under-steering prone setup.

I can attest that a 60% rear biased drivetrain is sufficient enough to enable a relatively high torque vehicle to fishtail exiting a corner prior to the front wheels compensating.

That was good!

Now, with the significant upgrades/changes to the CLA45 in MY2016 I wonder how it will compare to the 235i and M2.

I have to admit that I'm leaning towards AWD because of the weather here in Buffalo.

Impressive work from AMG team!
Still I don't believe it will be better on track than M2
