Bench flashing 2020 DME's

I've been wanting to tune my 2020 M2C but as we all know the only way is to "bench flash"
And no I don't want to ship my DME off anywhere and looking for a shop in Cali that is capable of flashing it themselves. Are you guys aware of any shops who can flash BM3 themselves without shipping off my DME??

**Preferably in the bay area**

Isn't it possible to flash willy nilly once the DME's unlocked? I was under the impression that once you get your DME unlocked, you can flash whenever you'd like.

Doesn't help the fact that you have to go down here for the unlock though...

Oh ok, so I suppose you could take a trip down. Unlock DME then go back using a 91 or 93 stage 2 tune. Then flash the e30 tune once you're back up north where there's plenty of corn juice.

Exactly. I was hoping by local carbahn tuner would unlock my DME since they are able to bench flash and port their own tune BUT.. these assholes gave me the run-around after I told them I only wanted my DME unlocked without their tune and they suddenly said oh we can't unlock your dme 🖕🏽

Purchased Wheels from them and pre-paid in 50% in March. Wheels were supposed to arrive in May. Come mid May and I didn't hear back from them after countless PM's and Emails I'm told the Wheels won't arrive till June. June comes around and after another round of countless PM's and Emails I get told only the fronts arrived but no rears. Finally in Aug after hounding then for a week all 4 wheels have arrived and I go to pick them up to find out that they forgot to order center caps and the correct valve stems. I finally got my Center caps in Dec 9 months after I placed my order 6 months after the promised date. I'm still missing valve stems to this day and have to follow up.

I get some of this is the Distributors issues but AutoTalent's customer service sucks. There is zero follow up or remorse on their end. No "I'm sorry for all the inconvenience" or anything like that and I shouldn't be the one having to PM/Email and call multiple times just to get answers or status. I think I've experienced better customer service at the DMV. IMO once they get their money they could give 2 shits about you. I would suggest staying as far away from them as possible, especially with something like a ECU flash. Once you pay them to flash and it doesn't go well good luck getting any support from them. I'm willing to pay a bit more at this point from a different vendor with better service.

Check with The Racers Line in Concord. Neal there works with Zach previoulsy from Delicious Tuning and he tells me they do BMW, Supra, and 86 tunes. He is VERY busy though so best is to try to reach out to him via email and then make an appointment through his website.

Give AutoTalent a try

I've used them for tuning/mods for the last 12 years and never had an issue that they could control. Obviously anything out of their hands is understandable but always had good experiences on my end.

Sucks the guy who ordered wheels got delays and received wrong/missing items. Curious what wheel manufacturer you chose.

Also this is just from experience even outside of cars. If we nickel and dime anyone we usually don't get put on a priority list. Not saying that was the case just that 9/10 it happens when we do.

I live in the Bay area so I'm trying really hard to find a local shop to bench flash instead of having to ship my DME off which is what I don't want to do but willing if I can't find a shop.

From what I understand they can do the bench flash without even opening the DME by using just wiring contacts. I'm surprised more shops can't manage it.

When you say they can do. What shop are you referring to?

I've just read in other threads that it's not necessary to open up the DME anymore as was the case in the past. I have no first hand info.
