Bought Tire wheel combo from TireRack... For winter.

Just mounted the front and it is too wide...

I went with All Season tires in factory sizes, since my winter is occasional snow and ice, mostly wet and cold... and have another car for real winter/snow driving.

When you say they don't fit, you mean they stick out too much? Not that they rub, I take it?

Are you surprised though? Running the fronts thru an online calculator, it says they'd stick out 10mm more (half an inch). Seems to be what you're seeing?

It doesn't look too bad to me...

PS You got a nice budget for winter wheels! I'm looking for them for my M2C, and don't want to spend a fortune!

This is the exact wheel and size I've been looking at to squeeze a 275 square setup with. You look to be stock height and without any camber. I'd expect thees wheels to fix exactly how they look in your photo with an OEM car.

Did you keep these wheels? I am in IL (Chicago) as well and would take these off your hands if you aren't looking to keep them.

willtheyfit.com shows 10.4mm outboard, so yeah, they should poke a bit. And tires, you know, there is no standardization, so you'd need to pull them both up on tirerack and check the shoulders.

yeah, seriously, you bought a wider than OE wheel with OE size tires and you're complaining? Conventional wisdom is to go narrower for winter. OE front is 8.5 wide

That doesn't look like 9.5" ET25 to me. I run the stock wheels with 10mm spacer and they don't poke out (12mm would be flush).

I agree that it doesn't look like 9.5 +25, but it is. It's almost like he has positive camber in the front.

Also, I had a look at the tire specs, and they are identical to the stock tires in TW and OD, so that's not part of it.

j330xi I'm guessing your issue was not that it was too wide and rubbed the fender? Because if you haven't lowered your car, I don't see how that would be the case.

Using a Wheel Offset calculator, stock 9" ET29 wheels compared to 9.5" ET25 wheels would result in 2 mm LESS Inner Clearance (which shouldn't touch the suspension), and EXTEND the wheel out an extra 10mm, which many have done with spacers without issues.

OTOH, I bet it's your tire that is rubbing on the plastic in the fender well? I put 245/35/19 Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4’s on my car, but they rub a bit on the plastic fender wall on full lock. That's because despite being the exact same size as the OEM tires, they have a more square shoulder profile. If you compare the two tires' Tread Widths, you'll see that too: The PA4's is 9.5" whereas the PSS is 8.8". It goes away after a few thousand miles of driving, and has caused no damage on the plastic.
