If you also want the 788M wheels, order the 763M from your parts department post delivery. Swap the tires/tpms over from your 788M wheels. Wheels is definitely something I wouldn't have port installed. 788M wheels will be worth an easy $2k+ secondhand.

Why doesn't the Competition come with all these parts standard? Partially because they wanted to keep selling the base N55 car as the cheap version but because they can't do that and they want to still want to hit a price point they have to make some things options. Also it makes good business sense so they can make a CS or CSL or whatever and factory install parts and whatever else. They'll probably give that a color you can't get on other M2s like estoril blue because they have it already in the paint shop. You don't think the Competition is a good value? Get a Camaro, it's a great value, or a depreciated e90 M3 with parts already installed, they will never make another NA V8, probably be able to sell it for what you paid for it or more 5 years from now. |

To all the negative people:
Think positive, like an enthusiast. The exhaust is great and if for reason you think it's not good then work with the car instead of making fun of it. I mean, try to add an MPE or after market tune or exhaust to make it sound better. I sill think the exhaust sounds great and with the MPE it will only sound better.

Get the 788 wheels and buy the 763 then sell the 788 wheels, probably save a TON of money that way.

My dealer is barely capable of finding things that I am complaining about, do you think that they will be able to install a CF roof?
The sales guys at my dealership are asking the customer if they prefer a 4 cylinder or a V6! I never touched or damaged anything in my car, yet, they replaced the airbag and managed to put smudges on my A pillar. The headlamps were replaced in warranty and my bumper was never installed like factory tight and gap free... What a joke.... Well, if is dealer installed, I will say no thank you. I do not want anybody to install, modify or paint anything on my car. Actually I am that guy that wants the car as is from the boat, not even washed. Sorry BMW, if you really read our posts, please take note, I will pass this one. I rather have no car than a dealer destroyed car... Not on my expense. What is this? An IKEA car? Actually, the whole ideea makes me laugh and also wonder if BMW is sane enough to put its reputation at risk. I believe that is crazy and for this kind of money I can look elsewhere. I want a car built properly in the factory not dismantled and put together by some techs that are unable to address common issues. Are you kidding me? Do it factory order as a normal luxury company will do. PS Colors BMW, colors. This car needs colors. Is small, cute, fast, put some fast colors on it. Make it sparkle, make it alive for God’s sake! A luxury company that ask such prices should offer choices and customization, that’s what luxury is about! Last edited by Teutonic; 05-13-2018 at 12:36 AM.. |

The roof bow they are welding in that video is only because that E46 had a sunroof. M2C's without a sunroof already have the roof bow installed. You can look up the N55 M2 roof repair panel on ETK, the accompanying parts are adhesive, rivets, and 4 bolts(like said above). It is common practice replacing hail damaged roofs on 2series. To be honest it isn’t really a big deal, definitely being blown out of proportion.

He must have had a sunroof or the installer messed up. Non sunroof cars don't require any welding.

So bmw would rather pull in resources to install an optional sunroof at the factory than a CF roof in the M2??
Good move bmw. Not much Motorsport here in so called M models. If I were head of M I would tell them to stop having an optional sunroof so people can get a optional CF roof if they desire from the factory. Last edited by chmura; 05-13-2018 at 01:52 AM.. |

Guys, sorry but now I am jumping in to chase this witch hunt on the roof.
The M2 roof is not attached like the E46 and it definitely does NOT need the work done like you see in the video in this topic! I think the guys at IND can confirm this. It is a lot easier than shown in that video. I don't see them removing the complete interior to fit a roof. Before we all start shouting, shall we first wait and see what the final manual says and perhaps the guys at IND or Evolve can share how much work it is to install a roof. We are running a bit ahead of the game here I am more than happy to document it and then you are more than willing to start shouting at that moment if it is a good idea or not. For now let's wait how impact-full the change is and what kind of work is needed and at what price MR |

Shame about the splitter, for me thats the part I want most of all, think the front winglets are little odd on their own without something in the centre to balance them out. Last edited by as7920; 05-13-2018 at 03:27 AM.. |

Is it still possible to collect the car in the BMW Welt even if you want the M Performance parts fitted? Thanks for the nice interview! |
