Thanks.
If you also want the 788M wheels, order the 763M from your parts department post delivery. Swap the tires/tpms over from your 788M wheels. Wheels is definitely something I wouldn't have port installed. 788M wheels will be worth an easy $2k+ secondhand.

Holy shit, it comes with the fucking full S55 engine that's probably making WAY fucking more than 40 hp over the N55 and includes all the super bullet proof cooling and revs higher. Not happy with it? Throw a cheap ass tune on it, you KNOW it can handle it because the power it makes STOCK on the f80 and all the cooling is already there, low risk.

Why doesn't the Competition come with all these parts standard? Partially because they wanted to keep selling the base N55 car as the cheap version but because they can't do that and they want to still want to hit a price point they have to make some things options. Also it makes good business sense so they can make a CS or CSL or whatever and factory install parts and whatever else. They'll probably give that a color you can't get on other M2s like estoril blue because they have it already in the paint shop.

You don't think the Competition is a good value? Get a Camaro, it's a great value, or a depreciated e90 M3 with parts already installed, they will never make another NA V8, probably be able to sell it for what you paid for it or more 5 years from now.

To all the negative people:

Think positive, like an enthusiast.

The exhaust is great and if for reason you think it's not good then work with the car instead of making fun of it. I mean, try to add an MPE or after market tune or exhaust to make it sound better.

I sill think the exhaust sounds great and with the MPE it will only sound better.

To this end, the European exhaust is what people "hate" and have heard. The US exhaust has yet to be heard or recorded, lets wait and see. Though I have to say I've never NOT bought a car because the exhaust didn't sound "awesome" enough....

Get the 788 wheels and buy the 763 then sell the 788 wheels, probably save a TON of money that way.

5 if you buy m4 you save money, you have more power less risk of damage a great car...
This is my opinion guys is absolutely crazy!!
Reposting this video again just to give a rough idea of what's involved:

FWIW, the M2 has a Bonded/Riveted roof + 4 bolts. It is not welded.

The video in this thread (BMW M2 Competition Seen Live in Person https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1494841) belongs to a US or North America spec car but it's just a cold start revving.

One quick question. Can we fit the new break system on M4 comp pack? Will they offer the same for M4/3!
Thanks.

My dealer is barely capable of finding things that I am complaining about, do you think that they will be able to install a CF roof?
The sales guys at my dealership are asking the customer if they prefer a 4 cylinder or a V6!
I never touched or damaged anything in my car, yet, they replaced the airbag and managed to put smudges on my A pillar. The headlamps were replaced in warranty and my bumper was never installed like factory tight and gap free...
What a joke....

Well, if is dealer installed, I will say no thank you.
I do not want anybody to install, modify or paint anything on my car.
Actually I am that guy that wants the car as is from the boat, not even washed.

Sorry BMW, if you really read our posts, please take note, I will pass this one.
I rather have no car than a dealer destroyed car...
Not on my expense.

What is this? An IKEA car?
Actually, the whole ideea makes me laugh and also wonder if BMW is sane enough to put its reputation at risk.
I believe that is crazy and for this kind of money I can look elsewhere. I want a car built properly in the factory not dismantled and put together by some techs that are unable to address common issues. Are you kidding me?
Do it factory order as a normal luxury company will do.

PS
Colors BMW, colors. This car needs colors. Is small, cute, fast, put some fast colors on it. Make it sparkle, make it alive for God’s sake! A luxury company that ask such prices should offer choices and customization, that’s what luxury is about!

If this is the case; it kind of changes everything... If it's just rivets, glue and 4 bolts, then it's a much simpler process than cutting MIG welding from the frames..

We need more information on this procedure before jumping to conclusions.

Welding is involved. My local buddy already did RKP roof and confirm that.

The roof bow they are welding in that video is only because that E46 had a sunroof. M2C's without a sunroof already have the roof bow installed. You can look up the N55 M2 roof repair panel on ETK, the accompanying parts are adhesive, rivets, and 4 bolts(like said above). It is common practice replacing hail damaged roofs on 2series. To be honest it isn’t really a big deal, definitely being blown out of proportion.

He must have had a sunroof or the installer messed up. Non sunroof cars don't require any welding.

So bmw would rather pull in resources to install an optional sunroof at the factory than a CF roof in the M2??

Good move bmw. Not much Motorsport here in so called M models.

If I were head of M I would tell them to stop having an optional sunroof so people can get a optional CF roof if they desire from the factory.

But some people like sunroofs..

I for one dont chase the last millisecond around a track, so the benefits of a sunroof definately outeighs one without in daily driving..

Nope it will not fit and the M3/4 are almost EOL, so don't expect anything new.

Guys, sorry but now I am jumping in to chase this witch hunt on the roof.

The M2 roof is not attached like the E46 and it definitely does NOT need the work done like you see in the video in this topic! I think the guys at IND can confirm this. It is a lot easier than shown in that video. I don't see them removing the complete interior to fit a roof.

Before we all start shouting, shall we first wait and see what the final manual says and perhaps the guys at IND or Evolve can share how much work it is to install a roof.

We are running a bit ahead of the game here I am more than happy to document it and then you are more than willing to start shouting at that moment if it is a good idea or not. For now let's wait how impact-full the change is and what kind of work is needed and at what price

I'd be in the market for some 788M to replace my 437M. Think the silver finish will look great on my MG M2 LCI.

Shame about the splitter, for me thats the part I want most of all, think the front winglets are little odd on their own without something in the centre to balance them out.

Is it possible to include all M Performance parts in the leasing rate of the car?
Is it still possible to collect the car in the BMW Welt even if you want the M Performance parts fitted?

Thanks for the nice interview!
