Doing it manually like that each time you get in the car is a huge pain in the ass and it takes forever.

The CG VSC-1/2 on the other hand will default to the setting of your choice (automatically) and it can instantaneously be controlled via an included remote or the homelink buttons on your rear view mirror. No phone app or OBDII connection needed.

I've used both methods and I currently have and use the CG VSC-1 on my OG M2. It's much better and way easier to use than bimmerlink. 100% worth the money if you value being able to control your valves quickly and easily.
I could've sworn that I tested this on my '19 M2C and my valve stayed opened...am I crazy?

No you're not crazy. Same thing happened to me which is why I initially thought that bimmerlink did in fact have a memory setting. The reality is that the programming the car has from the factory causes the valve(s) to default to the open position when you start the car. It/they will then open and shut automatically as you drive depending on driving mode, speed, rpm, etc.

You have to manually force open/shut the valve via bimmerlink everytime you start the car or it will default back to the auto OEM behavior.

None besides that. If you have no reason/desire to ever shut them again or on the fly, unplugging them is definitely the solution.

Next week i will put it on and we will see how it works.

You got a check engine light from the disconnected exhaust valves? I've never heard of that happening. Odd.

Done!

I installed mine today! Here are my install observations.

First, install is quick and simple. I spent 30-45min but if someone had told me to mount the VSC on the passenger side exhaust hanger instead of the driver side (as indicated by the included instructions) it would have saved me 15 min. You can mount on the driver's side but because of the configuration of the VSC module's mounting bracket you will have an easier time mounting it on the passenger side. Additionally, it's easier making the harness reach the controller on the opposite side when the VSC is mounted on the passenger side.

The only tool required is a socket wrench with an extension and a 13mm socket.

I tested when I was done and then programed the fob buttons to my #1 and #2 homelink buttons. BOOM!

I installed vsc-2 and after 2000 kilometers the engine warning light turned on. The flaps are still working but it has Error(flaps interruption), it looks that M2C has different settings than M3/4.

Perhaps you have a valve issue? Did the error clear after you disconnected the VSC-2?

Mine has been on since delivery and now has about 1k miles without any issues.

But you have remus race version? We think that probelm becomes because OPF filter here in EU. If the flaps are open, and you have remus race exhaust there is not enough backpressure.

I have the stock exhaust. But I am in the US so I don't have the OPF.

Installed VSC-2. Works good left valve is not opening.

Anyone faced a similar issue?

All wires seem connected properly and there's no sign of cables burnt from contact with heat component

I think mine is open but honestly since the valves are upstream of the exhaust canister I can't look in the pipes to visually confirm. I do feel like I listed at the tails pipes whith the car running and used the remote to open/close the valves to confirm all was working. I'll check again when I get home.

Cable wasn't routed behind heat shield but behind the whole block.

Shouldn't really overheat down there but maybe that's the issue.

Either that or faulty unit.

So I checked mine and both valves open. The easiest way I could find to check it was to just start the car and put my ear next to the pipes on each side and switch the valves between opened/closed several times using the key fob remote that came with the VSC-2.

My AA signature exhaust only has one valve that works and is linked to the exhaust. The other is more like a placeholder. Should I just get the vsc 1 or 2? Idk if one valve working independently of the other will throw codes even though the other one is just held onto the bracket and not the exhaust itself.

It shouldnt throw a code just like right now you have one actuator disconnected and off your car. I would get the VS2 just incase you ever change exhausts. Put some extra dielectric silicone compound in the connector youre not using and just zip tie out of the way.

Yeah I'll probably just get 2. It's not disconnected btw. AA gives you a metal bracket to just attach to it and it's still plugged in. Just not connected to the exhaust.
