REMUS Sound Description:
In efficient mode at idle you would have to look at the REMUS Tips to know it was an aftermarket exhaust. When driving at cruising speed and lower RPM ranges the REMUS Exhaust provides a full, deep and throaty sound. No additional cabin noise and zero drone at all. You do get the expected crackles and pops during deceleration.

Once you switch to Sport/Sport Plus mode, you are starting to enter BEAST MODE!!! The system comes to life and sounds like an entirely different car. A very smooth and refined sound note and as loud as you want to make it, really. Inside the car you hear all nuances of the sound while keeping the cabin noise at a minimum and still zero drone.

That is the real beauty of the system - it is kind of Jekyll and Hyde and you can control that by the flick of the switch. This exhaust succeeded in providing an aggressive sound without ever being obnoxious or overpowering. Just a really true and clean sound that seems like it is made for this car.
I think the M2 should replace the M4. Its a better looking car than the M4.

Remus usually makes some good stuff. But this time, i don't know.. it sounds hallow and makes tin-can like raspy noise... Hopefully it's the video that didn't capture full range of sound from this nicely made exhaust.

I come from a 5 liter naturally aspirated American V8. The OG M2 sounds ok to me, nothing special.
But this is weak. Hollow, and fart can like. Not good. It sounds like it's choking on concrete. Is there really no way to make the S55 sound even remotely good?

I've been a fan of Remus in the past, but this does not sound good. I think the stock exhaust sounds better, actually. BMW did one hell of a job making the crappy sounding S55 sound decent for once. Almost good enough to make me want to trade my M240i in, but I'm going to be patient and enjoy it for a few more years until the S58 makes its way into the next-gen M2.

For comparison, I found this stock exhaust vid on YT:

My thought was that the s55 made its way into the M2c because it was no longer being used in the m3/4. So cheaper to use it in M2 and not re engineer a new engine. Doubt the s58 will make it to the M2, wouldnt it compete too much? Maybe once the next M3/4 moves past the s58?

There are people on this forum blowing $16,000 on M4 GTS seats to put into their M2. I bet there are plenty of people that'll go for this.

It made it because of emissions. The S55 is continuing to be produced for the M4 (until Oct 2020). So instead of having to bring both the N55 and S55 up to spec, it was easier to just give the M2 the S55 instead.

For the record that's with iND tax... he's already said that he paid less than half of that price for the seats...

Sounds better than some other vids here. However, his car does still have the OPF so it wasn't as loud as I had expected. No OPF could also change the exhaust note too..

If you have 16k to blow on seats you shouldn't be driving a m2 to begin with. Time to move up to a GT4.

Thanks for sharing this! It is a really nice, very detailed sound video. Yes, you are correct, customers can expect a little more sound in the US due to the OEM Exhaust configuration.

Either way, we believe this video really sums up what the REMUS Exhaust adds to the M2. It can be tricky to capture the true sound of the exhaust in videos. I have personally driven the M2 Competition with the REMUS Exhaust installed and sounds anything but tinny or hollow. It provides a very deep and throaty sound and the customer feedback has been confirming my personal observation.

These systems are still trickling into the US but we are sure that there will be plenty more customer videos that will allow other forum members to get a good and true idea of the REMUS sound on this car.

We appreciate all the feedback on this forum. If you have any additional inquiries feel free to send us a PM or email to michael@remususa.com

I have just fitted the remus to my OPF’d M2C and can personally vouch that the videos do this exhaust no justice at all, it certainly sounds deeper to my ears.

Installed Remus on my US spec M2C on 3/9. Looks fabulous and sounds great. I don't know why Remus's official videos did not capture the true sounds of this exhaust. but to me it sounds perfect. No drone, deep tune, just enough of burbles. Not too loud with valve close, and absolutely beast when valve opens up.

Why is it hanging so low? It is not a lot, but you would expect it a touch higher?

After doing some more research I think I'm just going to go with the Remus, I don't like the way AA looks as much and I'm sure they all sound great. If I end up wanting more sound (doubtful for a daily driver) I can just throw on the mid pipe.

Looks like pretty high quality. How much was the full system?

Mind sharing some sound clips?

Doesn't seem that low to me. Going to install more aggressive style of diffuser in the future anyway, so the gap will be gone.
