I am thinking of adding some mo-powa to my 18 lci M2. However, I'm learning of all the issues and the rabbit hole of new parts needed to not break stuff/throw codes.
Any advice/regrets? Should I stay stock so I can autocross and track it occasionally and not have any issues? Or get the bootmod, intake, charge pipe, intercooler, etc. and never look back... Keep in mind I probably will only keep the car for another year or two, so if you were me what would you do?? Thank you for your help! -G

Get the mods, why hold back? Enjoy your car during ownership.

Bolt ons are relatively safe and for track use will help keeping the car running cooler. I personally wouldn't think upgraded charge piping and intercooler to be a bad thing from a pre-owned buyers perspective. Downpipe is where you'll make noticeable power, if you don't plan on adding one, I wouldn't bother with a ECU tune.

I went down the rabbit hole. I would do it all again except for the intake. I really like my Fabspeed sportcat (perfect sound imho), like the csf intercooler (tight fit but it eventually went in) and my charge pipe. I also run stage 2 bootmod3 on 91. I run the winter with stock tune as I don’t need power on snow tires. Then summer for autocross and daily I switch back to the tune.
I have nothing against the intake, I do like the sound it makes, but there’s really no point as I seldom open the hood to see it. I’d just put that money into the other stuff, like camber plates and more tires which seem to always need refreshing |
