Anyone running this setup? Basically keeping the front stock and replacing 265 with 295/30

no, it does not. You guys keep regurgitating these "talking points" you've heard on forums, or papers, magazines, etc, without any relevant information and data points.

The car DOES understeer more now, yes.......... UNDER MAX CONDITIONS (eg, decent and aggressive apex cornering at 80% throttle, etc). Under normal daily driving there is absolutely ZERO effect. Under casual enthusiastic drives, there is no effect. Under most non-pro track sessions, there is negligible effects on almost all corners, except aggressive turns where you are taking the apex with good amount of speed.

There is a good discussion about it here:

5.Monster is a good poster and has lots of experience with tires and effects on sizes, etc, and we've had these conversations multiple times in the past. Even he will tell you that the increase in understeer is noticeable at the very high end of the spectrum of pushing this car, OR if you are a professional driver.

There is pros and cons on going wider, and you need to choose what suits you best. FOR ME, the better grip and handling on 95% of the driving circumstances I will be, track included, and the better looks, FAR OUTWEIGH the slight increase in understeer at extremes, and slight increase in hydroplaning

I'd love to do this, but my OCD dictates that the crown of the tire must match front to rear.

Looks damn good from the ass tho'.

Rather than saying the car “understeers more”, people need to think about this as “oversteers less”. It may sound like semantics but it’s not exactly the same thing.

As ssabripo says, it may change the overall balance of the car at the handling limit but nothing he has done gives him less grip at the front end.

Quite a reasonable thing to do on a street driven car.

Ok thanks, no reason to get heated. I DO track my car and therefore your drawbacks are relevant to me when selecting track tires.

I just opted for some 265/285 tires and will see how that compares to my current 255/275 setup.

EDIT: Caduceus raises a good point and makes me realise I worded my question incorrectly. It should have been "does this not alter the FR/RR balance of the car at the limit?". I like that the M2C can be steered with the throttle and did not want to introduce throttle induced understeer by over doing the rear grip.

245-295 is pretty extreme delta hence my curiosity.

Fair play, if rear wider tyre works for you then get it done and enjoy.

To my old eyes, solely based on looks - rear wheel/tyre combo looks Macan-esque [which is fine to me] where as the front looks mis-matched & weedy by comparison - just my view so pls don't take offence
